Hey,

ok... frustrated as hell...

i'm looking to make a VV mod but when i try to find a VV dial, much like the one used on the Little Sister but i cannot, for the life of me find one...

i just want a simple dial voltage control that doesn't take up much space so that i can pack it into a smaller box... i recognize it will cost more... but i think it would be worth it.

can anyone point me to one???

Cheers,

Jay

GAAK!!!

ok... mebbe i should ask for some assistance breaking it down to a smaller selection.. i don't want a vv thumbwheel that reaches higher than say 6 or 7 V output...

how the hell do i know which does that when not one of the options indicates the voltage range?? am i missing information that translates to voltage?

Would have to know what voltage regulator you plan on using. They are not all the same. Then you go get the data sheet for the regulator your going to use and do the math to figure out what ohm pot you need to get the voltage range you want.

HAH... see i knew i was missing something...

the way i was looking at it first was that it was just one component... i thought the pot was it... now i can see that i need a pot and a voltage regulator (looking at little sister i can see this now)...

i don't mind doing the math... but i won't lie... if someone could give me the right combo to accept between 3.2 and 15v and put out between 3.2 and 7v i'd be eternally grateful and i would treat you to a timmies coffee..

ok... so i'm doing more figuring...

if i attached this into this and then attached it to this in place of the '5v 3amp Regulator with control pin'... would i have it all together?

if so, i can manipulate it to fit into a box(possibly even that boxmod) and have a VV device that would cost me far less than 150 bucks and still call it mine!

Hey Jay, I have built quite a few with the DE-SWADJ 3 and they can take a beating. I did remove the outer heatsink and shaved the edges down some to fit in one battery groove in the box and have had 0 problems. I use 2 2xaa boxes glued together. One side for 2x14500s the other side for electronics and juice feeder. This is a picture of what I mean. No holes drilled or nothing glued yet. + and - coming from 8.4 volts ready to wire in regulator. Easy as pie

This is the only configuration I've used with this setup because it works so good. I still have to cut holes for the attie, switch, juice bottle, screwdiver hole to adjust and I also add a miniature female receptacle for a plug with voltage indicator from madvapes. The juice bottle ends up setting on the switch which is located at the bottom of the box. I seal the attie with some 3M adhesive. Works for me. For a VV this is about as simple as it gets but it is a very versitile all in one unit I can grab-n-go. Good for most of the day

This is basically what the finished unit looks like.SAM_0116.jpg
