Well, I have the Ego VV 3 to 6 volt unit and it is great. you can see what voltage you are set at and how much battery you have left.

https://www.fasttech.com/product/1422502

I got it from fasttech and it works awesome. 1100 mAh last a really long time.

Just my thoughts for ya :)

And it is only $17.93 with free shipping. Can't go wrong there :)

I was searching for this exact type of device a couple days ago.. wasn't that easy.

I was looking for something very small.

Like a VV as compact as the Joye eRoll or 510.

Is there a reason why something that size couldn't be a vv? Even if the battery was a very low mah, is there anything that would actually prevent a slender like those mentioned above from being designed as vv?

There are very few vari's that are tiny as the electronics need sufficient power to operate for a practical amount of time. To get a more compact vari one would need to go to a more box like shape.

The Twist and the Spinner are the smallest effective VV we have, for all practical purposes. The iTaste III is the only device in it's class of VV/VW and size.

]The technology is not available to make a powerful enough tiny battery to heat up our "toppers" and also have the vv and or vw technology in the device.

New technology is being developed all the time and this very well could change. The Twist & other similar brands were not available as little as a year 1/2 ago.

i did a bit of digging on this before, myself....

some small, probably lesser quality vv or vw mods... the vv gripper (roughly 80mm tall), Smoktech Groove, ovale v8, or a vv box mod (plenty vendors to choose from, most are based on (2) 14500 batteries)

bottom feeders are pretty small, if you're into these (these are also better quality), reosmods: rio grande & reo mini, notcigs vvpv.
there was also one from boge... Revolution? (not sure about the Revolution's quality, didn't look at that one much)

you could also do a mechanical w/18350 & a kick (VW module by evolv)

... and out of all of these the only one i have, that i can say anything about, is a vv box mod from madvapes

The provari mini was the shortest VV tube mod for a while and it might still be? I think a cheap 18500 mod with an 18350 and a kick would be good for anyone starting out. It'd give them the ability to play with voltage/wattage and also the ability to see how vaping strait from the battery voltage is should they want to try that. And a 18500 mod is short. A Bolt + Kick, 3-4 18350s, 3-4 18500s and your set. The Provari mini is a great mod. The Reo Mini 2.1 is a tiny box mod that you can use a kick module with. Kicks are just 20 bucks from china these days so its not as expensive as it used to be to get a mechanical + a kick.

I havent played with the kick yet. A bit intimidating for me. Is it hard to use/install/adjust?

Here's another idea. Buy a short replacement tube for about $6 and a couple of 18350 batteries and see what you think of that Evic an inch and 1/2 shorter. I think Stormy's Vapor Seller stocks them as well as several places that sell the EVic.

If you like that size, it will look great with your existing tanks.

Got my shortie tube today, slapped it on my eVic and I had to come back and say thank you for the suggestion. This is just what I needed. :)

Glad you could find something you like.

And for your additional question --- the iTaste III is not 808 threading. Any 510 threaded or ego style "topper" will fit on it.

It's very uncommon to find 808 threading on larger e-cigs, though there are a few brands of Ego sized batteries that are. Most of these are sold by companies that have a large cig-alike market and they probably call it a different name besides Ego.

There are things called adapters that are inexpensive. So about any threading you can find can be adapted to fit on 510 threads. Many suppliers sell adapters. You'll have to read carefully to see which one you need.......I do!

The iTaste v3 looks nice indeed. But why didn't they choose to put a 14500 battery inside? When the battery's at the end of its life you can throw this thing away. And what if you run out of power halfway through the day? This thing is way too expensive as long as they don't change this. Isn't there a similar product with an interchangeable 14500 battery?

You can use it in passthrough mode, so if you are near a power outlet or a USB port and your power is running low you simply plug it in to charge and you can vape with it while it is charging.

Way too expensive is subjective really. It is a variable voltage and variable wattage device, so think of it as an eGo on steroids.

The easy head is a fine product, and Joyetech has a good reputation for well made products.

But you should be aware that is is not an actual Vari Volt device.

It vapes like an Ego (as the easy head regulates it to do so) at a pre-set rate, or one can turn that regulation off.

I know. Easy head can operate from 4.2V to 3.5 V depending on the battery life or at constant voltage 3.3V which could be enough for rsst/cobra rba with lower resistance coil at about 1.5 ohm. Am i right? I am gonna get the easy head+short tube for 26 eur with shipping.

Akkuhülse 18350 King Kong / eVic von Anyvape - eDampf-Shop
eVic Easy Head / Kontrolleinheit von Joyetech - eDampf-Shop

Also the tube is compatibly with new evic control head NEUE Version! eVic Control Einheit von Joyetech - eDampf-Shop so maybe in the future :)

I own itaste svd, so i dont really need another fully adjustable mod. I want a short 18350 mod which will work with genesis atomizers like rsst. Thickness of most RBA`s is similar to the thickness of the tube so another + for evic :)

I know these isnt a real vv mod, but its better than nothing. :p
