Well, I've been reading on the new member's forum about people who are getting complaints about the "odor" from their ecigs. I thought there wouldn't be ANY odor. What are others' experiences? Is this "smell problem" only from certain flavors of juice? Has anyone told you that they are offended by how you smell when you are using an ecig?

There is, in fact, a faint odor.

Often, it matches the flavor of the liquid. I have had my room mate and people at bars successfully identify chocolate, coffee, watermelon, vanilla and strawberry.

The various tobacco flavors also have an odor but it's not really similar to anything else I can think of.

It's faint but it's there.

I did have a woman walk up on me in a bar one night (a bar that is vaping-friendly) and start giving me grief about the "smell". She was no less than 15 feet from me before approaching me...There's no way she could have smelled anything, even if I was vaping a fresh turd.

I explained to her what I was doing and that it wasn't smoke. People around me told her they couldn't smell anything and laughed at her a bit. She gave me a bunch of sh.t, got rude and nasty, etc...so I told her to screw. Her and her friends gave me the stink eye for the rest of the night but didn't say anything after that.

My point is that she was CONVINCED that there was a smell. She didn't understand the concept of the e-cig and even after I broke down the PEN STYLE (didn't even look like a cigarette) and explained it, she still swore she smelled smoke.

Crackpot.

I had a ladyin my office inquire about my e-cig. She heard I had one and asked to see it. I pulled it out of my coat pocket and held it out so she could get a good look at it. She took a step back like I was handing her a bag of dog crap. I took a draw off of it and as I was inhaling she gasped as she clutched her pearl necklace and loudly said "I can smell it!" It was 36mg flavorless from Eastmall. What a stupid hag!

They are so full of sh*t. They are programmed to complain if it even sounds like you are smoking and maybe ENJOYING YOURSELF. Now that they got us to stop smoking - they need something else to moan about.

I went to visit my Daughter in florida last month. She absolutely hates cigarettes - she is a reformed smoker. I used to have to go outside and 25 feet away from her house to smoke. She actually let me vape in her house. She said it was like an air freshener!

I can't smell a thing from my vaping my house smells great. After I quit analogs I washed everything in my house to get rid of any lingering ciggy smell. This the non order of vaping has been a big help in my quitting analogs I can't stand the smell of analogs anymore.

My boss lets me vape at work he can't smell it, and he was so happy I quit smoking that I think it's his way of helping me stay off the analogs:cool:

Hubby can smell RY4 and says it smells like pipe tobacco, I can smell RY4 on my clothes and spearmint after leaving a room and returning. So far those are the only two I can detect. The grandkids say they smell chocolate and vanilla.
Does anyone think glycerin makes the vapor, therefor the scent linger longer in the air?

I had an exsmoker friend here over the weekend and I vaped in his vehicle. He couldn't smell a thing until I fired up some RY4. Then he said he could smell something really good, like caramel or candy. That suprised me cause I haven't been able to smell anything and I haven't regained any sense of smell since quitting the anologs either. No bad vibes over vapin from anyone yet! Yahoo! dawn

I notice when I come home in the morning my apartment has a faint smell of my flavor du'jour. Slight caramel smell if it's RY4, slight nutty smell for 555, slight mint for menthol, etc. So far at work, it dissipates far enough into the cube farm that even that isn't detectable. The only time was a slight hint of mint in my cube after I had some cash real menthol there... it was barely noticeable and rather pleasant hehe.

Love these things!
