Im sure a lot of it is just in their heads. They expect there to be an odor so to them there is an odor, whether or not there actually is. Again, it comes down to mind over matter. If you think, rather convince yourself there is an odor, then there will be an odor.
I think this does have a lot to do with it. Not that I can blame people for expecting a foul smell when they see 'smoke'. Today I vaped at a restaurant. As the vapor came out for the time my friend sitting across the table instinctively pulled away from the vapor. When I asked him if he had smelled it, he had to think about it for a second, but then realized he hadn't smelled anything.

I do apologize for discussing this issue twice. FYI, I smoked regular cigarettes for a VERY long time, and I'm just tired of trying to hide that I'm addicted to nicotine. I quit completely on 5/23 when I started the ecigs (so I'm on day 12). I'm very happy with them, as well as thankful that they have helped me stay off the analogs. I don't plan to ever go back to them. I'm just very sensitive to the criticism that I think might still be coming my way, because others MAY react to the odor of the ecigs. What the hell - ecigs are MUCH better for me, and I shouldn't care so much what others think! I do use the 901.

Yes, go with that. I'm all for being considerate of others but also expect others to be considerate of me. I decided a long time ago not to put up with any polically correct bs from people.

Yes, you have 2 open threads about this. One needs to be closed. Which one?

Okay, anything with a flavor is going to have a scent.

This is just common sense (pun not intended).

But it isn't an "odor" and it doesn't linger. I can vape in my office an no one is going to come in and say, "Hey, have you been smoking in here?"

I can blow vapor in a non-smokers face (only after asking of course). No one has ever said anything beyond, "Hmmm... nice. Sort of fruity."

Where is 'all over the place'? I want to read it too. I have vaped 'all over the place' and only one person could smell anything and that was sweet from RY4. Please point me to this reading and negative scent comments. dawn

Yeah me too. I was vaping for my Doctor (so she could see the thing work) and she could smell the RY4. That's the only time I have had anyone smell anything at all.

Now I am reading all over the place that ecig users are having other people complain about the odor from the ecigs. Is this going to be as bad as smoke from the analogs? I thought ecigs were free from ANY smell, and I'm very disappointed to hear that they are not. When I smoked "regular" cigarettes people reacted with revulsion. I fear it will be the same way with the ecigs, unless someone finds a way for them to truly be odor-free (as they were advertised). Would you call this "false advertising"?

Ok, let me be the bad guy here. Can we please stop commenting on this thread? The OP above is alarmist and silly to say the least. "Is this going to be as bad as smoke from the analogs?" "False advertising?" Come on, to compare what little smell (If any, depending on your juice) from vaping to actual smoke from an analog is like comparing the winds of a fierce storm to the breeze you experienced at your last barbecue. People should be more worried about their perfume or their cologne than what you are exhaling while you vape.

Nuff' said. Thank you....

My cats would never come near an analog but with vaping they come close and actually sniff the vapor. Animals certainly know whats bad and whats not. Some people don't. My wife is an ex-smoker and she likes the smell of vapor enough for me to vape in her car. Anyone who thinks the vapor from an e-cig is bad should take a good whiff of an analog just to remind them of what they are not smelling anymore.

The number one change I have noticed since quitting analogs is my increased sense of smell. I am surprised everyday about how I can tell a smoker from 10 feet away. And to think, that was me for 25 years.......:(

I was pretty sick for 2 weeks a long time ago and I couldn,t smoke in the hospital. Once I was feeling better I noticed how bad smokers smelled. I thought the same thing as you. I could smell a smoker from 50ft away and always remembered that I smelled like that too. Unfortunately, I started smoking again and am hoping to use vaping to escape this time because the sick way is no fun at all

I've been vaping and off analogs for nearly 5 months now and am surprised at how much i hate the smell of analogs, when at work sometimes i go outside with my friends who smoke i find i have to keep well out the way of there smoke as it really sickens me now, i don't think i could touch an analog now even if i was desperate, after 30 yrs of smoking and many failed attempts of giving up, vaping is the only thing that has made me see how bad analogs really are.
