My husband is a RABID non-smoker. HE LETS ME vape IN HIS CAR.

To understand just how huge this is . . . My husband has a BMW convertible, the love of his life, his "baby." He takes it to the car wash every freakin' week (and sometimes twice a week). (I got him unlimited car washes for a year for a Christmas present.) We were driving somewhere with the top up because it was raining, and he said, "Hey, I don't mind if you want to vape in the car." 8-o I did so discretely, though, not blowing billows of vapor.

He also doesn't mind if I vape in the house, even if I'm sitting on the sofa next to him. He says that sometimes he can smell a faint scent, but nothing very strong and mostly barely noticeable (if noticeable at all). I think he found one marginally objectionable, but I can't remember which it was.

Honestly, I've been around people who wear perfume that is far, far more offensive than the slight scent given off by e-cigs. The worst is smokers who spritz with perfume. I try not to pull away from them, though. It wasn't so long ago that I was one of them. Painful to think just how badly I must have smelled.

I think the most important thing here is that there is not the smell of burning tobacco. Any other smell could ultimately be from anything. Like someone else had stated, that slight vanilla smell or cappuchino smell could be the lotion from the girl next to you.

"It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."

Ok, so maybe not THAT lotion....

Seriously, I've only had one person complain about any smell from any of my vaporizers. That person was my wife, and I was using French Pipe in my DSE601 e-pipe. So now I save that one for me when I'm at my computer at home relaxing and reading the forums.

Just yesterday, was in a meeting with about 8 people here in the office, and I was vaping some Spearmint on my 801. (Yes, my office is that cool to let me vape in a meeting). A couple of people smelled it faintly, and thought it was chewing gum. They loved it.

Do as I say or I'll wear you as part of a coat!
Random fact: That chick in the well played a cute lesbo doctor on Greys Anatomy.

I dont smell anything when I vape- and have only heard that it smells sweet, very faint cookies, or "Yummy!"
Anyone who says they have a foul odor just wants to smell foul odors. Thats just weird of them.

People that ..... about vaping are the same people that complain about the SOUND of flowers blooming.

these people get secondhand cancer from watching smokers on tv

I am sorry... I had to post and just let you know that this is the funniest thing I have heard in awhile. Bravo! So funny!

Karen, The simple solution to this problem is to be responsible and discreet. Don't let anyone know you have an e-cig. Don't wave it around fishing for comments and draw attention to it. Don't proselytize to smokers. Don't brag about it to ex-smokers. Don't go to Walmart or the bars and purposely try to get security or management or other patrons to confront you. It's a personal vaporizer, keep it personal. If you get comments or complaints, You are not using it responsibly.

I have been vaping in my "no smoking" office since Feb. I tell the others in the office that if they smell a bad odor to let me know and I will stop. Not once have I got a complaint, even from the building's resident smoking cop. she says she can't smell it. The smell also does not seem to build up in the fabrics, carpet etc. My office is smoke and odor free.

Like I said in the previous thread, the more nicotine, the stronger the smell, but it dissipates almost instantly, as long as your not blowing it in someones face, they wont smell it. If it is TOBACCO FLAVORED, its gonna have a hint of TOBACCO SMELL, but nothing that clings to your office, clothes etc.

Is it really necessary to call me names? I DESPERATELY want the ecigs to work for me. And, they are. I will never smoke an analog again. I thought this forum was a place to express concerns as well as comments. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

I am actually glad you posted your thoughts about the possible smell. I have been wondering about the same thing since I started vaping, especially so because my sense of smell (like most long time smokers) was not very accurate.
So it is good to hear from others what they have experienced ref any smells.

Thank you for posting it!

When I recieved my first e-cig, my husband was out of town for the weekend. During his first night home, he was downstairs in his office while I was upstairs watching TV.
This man can tell when a new aroma has been introduced to a room, so I thought "Ah ha! Well find out tonight if this smells!"
After a couple of hours, he came upstairs and we chit chatted for a good 15 min. before he went to bed, never saying a word about "sniff sniff....what's that smell?...."
The flavor was a popular vendor's Marlboro flavor...

The following evening, he was asking me about a charge on the card (he checks the credit card every few days online). I told him that I had purchased an e-cig. We talked about it and he said that he hoped it worked for me. I giggled and told him I had been using it for 2 days, in the house, and he didn't even notice.

A week later, I was walking outside with friend who quit analogs in Feb. I pulled out my 901 and started puffing away. She said she could smell it. For a breif moment, I thought she was crazy, but before I could finish that thought, I realized I could smell it too!! It was a RY4 blend and while she could tell the nuttyness, she couldn't distinguish the carmel. I'm sure it's 'cause she wasn't expecting it. She said that it didn't stink, but she could tell there was an aroma of some kind.
