Ok so like the title states.......this stuff taste like when you put the pen/ink end of a ballpoint in your mouth by accident.

I need some help here....

50/50 4mg

2% caramel F Art
2% dulce de leche TFA
2% bavarian cream TFA
1% sweet cream TFA
1% marshmellow F Art
1% sweetener F Art

speed steeped (aged) for 4 hrs at 150 three days ago and I'm tasting it on a Magma 26 gage 1 ohm coil with muji cotton from 16-18.5 Watts

Also made another liquid recently...its been awhile...and it was good.....so I am pretty sure it is not my PG, VG or Nic.

This is the first time I'm using the first two ingredients in a recipe ( have researched the common used percentages) and I don't think I'm that far off the mark.

Just looking for a kinda mellow, caramel creamy sweet vape......nothing crazy......right......should be easy......

It really smells amazing..........any help or advise is greatly appreciated....thanks for reading :toast:

Smells good and tastes bad? Sounds like something some clod by the name of Hoosier covered in a blog about flavoring levels. If you can find a post by that clod, you can click the"3" just to the right of Blog Entries: below his picture and it will take you to those blogs.

Something else to think about, if you had 3 single flavoring mixes with each one working at 2% total flavoring and you threw them all into a bottle, that bottle would have 2% total flavoring too. Common mistake to assume that a % that works for stand-alone could work for combinations.

And the important question is, what did it taste like before steeping?

Thanks......I can't find this person you speak of anywhere.....I've looked and looked..........I think he is just a legend......like bigfoot.....
P.S. There are only two places on the earth that you can call some one a hoosier......Indiana and St. Louis, MO......I sir am from the latter, and depending on who you ask I may also be one!

Prior to steeping and starting with just caramel and sweetener.....I was just getting a hint of caramel......thought it would/ could use a little help and come out more with the addition of the dulce de leche and bavarian cream and a good steep..........the addition of the sweet cream and marshmallow in my mind was just for more of a mouth feel...............not so much........really it taste like PEN INK.......no other way to describe it.

Thanks for the comments.....back to the drawing board.

I have made successful/vapable recipes but have started to venture into new territory with these flavors.....And I promise I have read, read, read and then read some more, and I appreciate You and many others for sharing knowledge.......even if you are a clod.....:p:toast:

If it smells amazing, then you may be onto something. If it tastes bad but smells amazing, I think the overall percentage is too high. But what to do?

If you have enough flavoring to do this, I would make a flavoring batch of these percentages. Make it substituting each percentage by a mL, or if you don't have enough, substitute each by .5 mL. EX:

2 mL caramel F Art
2 mL dulce de leche TFA
2 mL bavarian cream TFA
1 mL sweet cream TFA
1 mL marshmellow F Art
1 mL sweetener F Art

Or,

1 mL caramel F Art
1 mL dulce de leche TFA
1 mL bavarian cream TFA
0.5 mL sweet cream TFA
0.5 mL marshmellow F Art
0.5 mL sweetener F Art

Add those into one batch and take what was previously 9% and try it as a single flavoring (mix) at lower percentages. It'll be a whole lot easier than you would be able to with doing each flavoring. Who knows? It may turn out to be a 'new' flavoring that you can use in other mixes.

Lastly, no matter what, nasty never comes *solely* from too little flavoring. A flavoring/mix may just be nasty at any percentage, but that's different. When you think you are onto something but something is off/nasty, go lower. Nasty don't get good by adding more.
