Yeah I tried that but to be honest it still looks brand new and really clean.Sounds like the battery cap might be a little dirty. Clean off the area where the battery touches the cap and the threads on both the cap and the mod. Alcohol and a tooth brush would do the job, try not to get any inside the box. If you do, just let it air out for a while before using it.
Yeah I stopped using earlier. I have two of them batterys. 1s only a couple of weeks old and that does it as well.If your burning yourself, please don't use that battery until someone with more knowledge comes along and helps. I don't have that mod, or use that battery so not sure what's going on.
The levels are in the comment above. Iv stopped using as soon as it about blistered my finger. Batterys were supplied from same shop that supplied al85. They also gave me a dual charger so can charge both batterys at once via the mains, don't no if this could have ought to do with it?Mxjo is another re wrapped falsely rated & labeled battery.
Some of the mxjo's are dangerously over rated & few get too hot to use safely.
If any part of the battery or battery cap is getting hot stop using it.
The battery cap getting hot sounds more like poor contact/connection.
If the cap is getting hot from heat transfer from the cell, go buy a lotto ticket.
What power level are you using?
Welcome and glad you joined. I have provided a little more information which might help choosing batteries.Hi
I have a smok al85 with mini beast tank. Was working fine but recently the battery metal cap is getting extremely hot to the point where it burns my finger. Iv changed the battery and changed the atomizer. I'm using a Q4 atomizer. Any help would be appreciated. Al85 is 2 months old.
Thanks
I just experienced this hot cap issue myself. I was adhering to the policy of "don't over-tighten" so I had the cap on just enough to make contact and a couple more turns to hold securely and, vaping at 50W (authentic Sony VTC4 from illumn about 1yr old with approx. 50 charge cycles) I noticed that the cap did in fact get, actually, quite very hot. Very hot on top, and really hot on the edge near the threads. It only happened while firing, and cooled back down quickly right after. I pulled out the battery and gave it a kiss (I sometimes find my lips a better judge of ambient warmth than my often-cold hands and fingertips) and it was still cool. I cinched the cap down all the way, and it hasn't been an issue. This was just a few minutes ago, now, but hopefully this solves it.
You're right in that there is not ventilation at the bottom BUT there is some ventilation from the usb port, you can check that by blowing through the battery slot and you'll notice the air coming out of the usb port.I will tell you the exact reason why it's happening and why there it nothing to do about.
I use to have other mini mods before the AL 85 and I notice they have some holes in the bottom of the battery place in order to provide a good airflow, Wich the AL85 is lack of. That means there is no air provided to cool the battery down. The only thing I can think right now is to blow the vape on the cap of the battery that will cool it down a lil bit. Just don't blow to near bc it can condense and you don't want liquid on your battery lol
