I have been tossing around the idea of building coils and such. Today I was in the ole vape store when the smoke dripper rda caught my eye. It was only 8 bucks and came pre coiled with a ton of long enticing wicks on it. Figured what the hell id buy it and use it till it needed a new coil and then id be forced to try my hand. Seems like a pretty nice piece. I appreciate the solid construction and sleek design. The coil ohms out at 2.0 stock and it seems to make some pretty respectable vape and flavor stock. Im a bit unsettled because ive never really looked closely at wicking material before. There seems to be a relatively large amount of loose or sticking out hair like fibers coming from the wick. Should I try to remove those or will they be ok when wet. A part of me fears that somehow one of these fibers will dislodge and find its way to my lungs. Just an observation and concern. Anyone else using one of these and enjoying them? Any good tips or warnings?

I have a smoke mini RDA. The stock coil worked OK for me without any issues but I didn't Vape with it for very long. I have a 2.0 ohm 30 gauge micro coil wicked with cotton in it right now and it works pretty good for such a small atomizer.

So some tips.... Drill out the air hole! I drilled mine out to 1/16th. The thumb screws have to have a little extra twist with needle nose pliers to tighten them down enough to make a good connection, finger tight is not quite enough. I would also suggest a plastic drip tip as metal tips heat up pretty quick with it.

I have the same RDA, it does work well. Also, what I might suggest, (cuz I'm doing this as well), Smok does make premade coils for it, pick a few up. That way, if your first couple of coils are goofed up, you can always slap in a premade and vape away.

What I also found out is if you flood it, (like I did the first time out), crank up the power a little. Instant fog! I was at work, in my car, listening to Reggae, and was wondering why people were looking at me funny. I open the door to get out, and clouds roll out as if the car was on fire!

This one looks like a little beer bottle. The entire body is the tip. Drilling out the air hole a bit seems like a good idea, its a bit tight on the draw.
