I've got this tank and so far, other than a few design flaws, this thing rocks!
Mine came with the triple coil that is rated all the way up to 130watts. I'm currently rocking this at 100watts.

The coils needed a bit of break in, this morning the taste was a little funky but that seems to be going away.

As I mentioned, there are a couple of design flaws. The tank does not seal properly at the top where you refill. This causes a lack of pressure in the tank which seems to lead to the liquid slowly leaking from the airholes. I woke up this morning to find what was a full tank had become a half tank, with liquid absorbed into my carry pouch.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to change the coil without disassembling the entire tank. This could cause someone to dump a tank of liquid on themselves if trying to remove the base.

Other than that, this thing is a big time performer.

No leaks here, but what do you do to try to help it seal? Cleaning it is about all one could do right?

So I'd like to make an addendum to the information I posted earlier.

The leaking problem seems to have to do with the way the tank is assembled/disassembled. If not tightened properly, liquid can make it's way in through the top of the coils (where the chimney attaches) and out through the mouth holes.

The biggest problem doesn't seem to be the seal at the top...I tightened down the chimney a little firmer, and now I don't seem to have a leaking issue at all.

This issue could have been remedied by better build design, but when put together properly, everything seems to work fine.

Well I just started tootle puffing on the quad coil (new 2nd tank) and I did get some imediate leaking out of the lower air valve *BUT* I think its pretty darn tight on the assembly. I did start off at 30/50 watts to help prime it, maybe that over primed it.

The 1st few hits at 80-100 spit so I just now took it to 130. Let me play with this a little, I fear pulling it apart hot is not a good idea since Rixsta's seal tore/melted. What puffs I got at 100-130 flavor was good, clouds good. I'm coughing a little.

Okay so after a few hours with quad coil.

1. I agree the Quad has a little more flavor than the triple, but I'm not going to say day and night difference, but it IS noticeable.

2. I did have some initial flooding but it seems you should just fire this coil up at 70 watts, it wicks up quickly. I hope no more leaking comes and it was a one off.

3. I do get some slight spark spit at 90 watts but it is not as bad as a "new" Crown coil. The Crown really needs a few tanks ran through it for that to subside.

4. I agree that air flow is better.

5. I agree it is a warmer vape once above 100 but 100 and below not really any warmer than Crown at similar wattage and only modestly warmer than Triple BUT the Triple stands out as MUCH cooler if you hang at say 70 watts with just as much cloud. I'm also still getting minor spitting at 70 watts on that Quad. This may tame down as the coil ages like the Crown does.

Generally I don't like it when the top flavor tanks like Crown and TFV Quad spit because I believe there is always some misdirection of flavor when you are getting juice in your mouth. That's just me.

There is no perfect tank. When you compare the size of a Crown coil to the size of the Smok Quad you have to give a nod to Crown for what they accomplished in such a small package.

When it comes to the top fill and over all design I think Crown gives the end user a better top fill, much faster coil swap, no seal to deal with, faster fill up and only misses the bar on capacity and being able to handle the high wattage these Smok coils can achieve if you want to go there. And I did last night hitting that triple at 140 150 vapable watts. The Crown could NOT do that. For this reason the TFV is the top dog Clearo with Uwell knocking at the door. If you have a mod like a Sig 75, just get the Crown. Sig 150 or Snowwolf, get the TFV and the Crown.

So assuming I have no further leak/flood issues I am still VERY impressed with the TFV. I won't put the Starre Pro near these tanks because they over designed it trying to be different. I won't get the new Arctic because from what I'm reading it sounds like Starre Pro all over again and personally I'm not going there (LOVE my original Artic and Starre/Maganus though).

I hope we see some replacement inner seals for the TFV quickly. That little one, the one Rixsta had melt, the one that is going to take the most abuse is too flimsy and small. It spooks me and the tank is only as good as the weakest link. I will go as far as saying that seal is so cheap looking that it should have been reversed and mounted to the coils for a fresh one on every coil install. Would add 5 cents to each coil.

Sorry for the length!

No problem here, it shouldn't be leaking.....I see you have fixed it. gd gd.

Like 99% of tanks, only an idiot would change the coil with a full tank of juice !!

I noticed a massive difference going from the triple to the quad, maybe it's my juice but the quad really bought out the peach flavour in the ice cream, a lot !

The bottom seal, I completely agree, everyone should take care, I've kept my Kanger seals in the bottom, they work very well..You know that seal will tear, it's just a matter of time !!

You always give an honest account of what you think....me likes that.

Sorry I should of mentioned the slight flooding, I'm a fool, sorry but yeah, the coils don't really need much breaking in, best to shoot straight up to 70w, then 80w ect...also...I don't prime the quad coil, I put it straight in the tank, let it sit for 20 mins, few primer pulls and vape away. I really should of mentioned this, again, I'm a fool lol

These are very rare indeed but handy to have, surprising what a bit of complaining does :)

And even rarer, genuine 2015 VCT5's... They work very well..

@Rixsta - Yeah flavor is just so hard to judge because unless you are testing every tank at the same time with the same juice.

I don't think there will be any question that the Quad on TFV and Uwell Crown are the flavor winner and those triples will just vary by peoples juices. I started on my triple with a VERY rich sauce and it was pretty good, I think it was a 24% flavoring mix.

Hey when you break in a Crown there is an aroma to the new fresh coil, I like to call it marshmallow smokey because I kind of like it (wierd eh?).

It will go away after a couple of tanks.

Yeah 24 is pretty strong, I quite like strong flavour though, I usually mix around 17% I feel a bit sick though today, there's only so much strawberry and cream you can vape in one day. Gone to my Starre tank for a rest, never thought I'd be saying that. My Subtank Mini is like tootle puffing now lol
Can't believe I bought a Crown, the wife gave me THAT look. I bought her a hot tub though so I gave her THAT look back and she smiled, vaping on her kayfun..

I finally got all of my stuff in today....it all came at once it seems. The batteries yesterday doe. Batteries for days!

Picked up a Coil Master V3 and some 28 AWG Ni200 while I was at it. Bought a small spool of tempered nickel too just to see what all the fuss was about.

A shot of my new setup. So purdy!

11853976_10153221883701137_1522996961_n.jpg

Anyway, I did try out the the triple coil head that was pre-installed. Stepped it up slowly and wow...the vapor! The draw on this tank is amazing! 100-130W seems to work great, I haven't taken the triple up any higher yet. I did start to get some dry-ish hits towards the end though...and that was after letting it sit for a while....although it might have been my fault for chaining. I probably killed a tank in less than an hour!

I was going to try the quad headout next but I got side tracked since I had all these new toys laying around. :w00t: Instead, I fiddled with the RBA head and did that nickel build I said I was going to try.

Excuse the sorta jankyness of the coil....but it works! Did 7 wraps on the Col Master's 3mm mandrel and got 'em decently spaced. Admittedly this is my second coil....the first one got hot legs for some reason so I tossed it....but hey, not bad for my first time trying nickel right? :p The build was straight forward and rpetty easy since there was so much room!

11855394_10153222084971137_1419076113_n.jpg

The coil came out to what I expected, .10 ohm, so I locked her in. She passed the dry fire test as well! :2cool: I have cranked it up to 50J and 450F now and I have to admit, it's pretty nice. The airflow is good on the RBA head and, of course no dry hits. The vapor isn't OMGWTFBBQ in your face like the triple (and probably quad) are, but, it's not bad by any means. I can see myself using the RBA head quite a bit since I can rewick/build it with ease AND I can take drags for as long as I want. The other upside is that it definitely isn't as thirsty as the triple.

Anyway sorry for the long post. More thoughts and updates as they come! :rickroll:

heya @Rixsta - did you contact vendor or manufacturer for the replacement seals?

Vendor, he was kind enough to strip one of the tanks of it's O rings and send them to me free of charge..but then I put a lot of business his way.

I have similar vapemail on the way.... you are making me jealous.

I only got one set of batteries which I'm already starting to regret but I wanted to see how the VTC4s performed to see if I wanted to stick with those get some other batteries.

I also bought 3 RDAs.... bad case of shinyitis.

One set won't get you through a full day, you need to buy some more haha ;)
