Well this is a must have, even though I'm stepping back from full time sub ohm vaping, this is one I will buy.

I wish I could be sure of that but I think in my case it may be a combination of issues. Not being able to close the airflow off 100% while filling definitely contributes. In my eyes, it is the most likely culprit. My experiences with the fogger v3 were about the same. If that airflow was open even a smidge on filling it would leak right away.

I hear from some ppl that their airflow can be closed off 100% with their tfv4. Others say theirs was like mine. The owner at ecig avenue where I bought mine said all the ones he has seen close off completely. He said his employees have been using them without issue. I sent him a pic of my base as well.

Im really thinking it was a bad batch of machining from smok. I have no idea. I could use that tank band over when filling but Id rather have a unit that works right.

Of the time I did spend being able to vape the tri coil, I really truly loved the vape.

I have both versions. One the airflow just barely closes all the way and the other one it does not quite reach. You got the earlier batch. You can tell by how easy the AFC ring slides. The newer ones have a tighter AFC ring. You do not need to close off the airflow control to fill the tank. I never close off my airflow and it fills fine. Have you tried a 2nd coil? I have been using these tanks a LOT and I have had a coil do exactly what you explain. As soon as you sort of tip it to hit it your juice leaks out of the AFC.

I will pre-order the titanium there. Price is ok and they were very fast with my last order
I pre-ordered all of the new coils except the 1.5 NI200. I like lower resistance NI 200 builds more. I had hoped they would get a sub .1 NI 200 coil but the Xcube wont fire it so that is not likely to happen.

I think I finally killed my quad coil head (started tasting a bit burnt), guess I need to order some more. Debating if i should wait on the Ni/Ti coils instead though...

Meanwhile, I soaked it in in some vodka for 5 mins, rinsed it out with hot water and let her dry overnight. I'm having to re-break it in right now, but so far so good. :2cool:

I think I left my used triple out for long too...when i tried it, tasted funky...so it got the same treatment just now, heh.

Dave, has nothing really to do with tipping it. As soon as I started filling it started leaking. Happend with all the quad, tricoil, single, and dual. I checked all the orings. Tried both top silicone seals. Things couldnt get any tighter. Everything but the airflow being cut off checked out. Even tried the replacement orings that came with the dual coil head.

I am truly stumped. Every obvious problem that an experienced vaper like myself would troubleshoot, I tried. The tri coil I was able to vape 3/4 of a tank thru as somehow I was able to stop it leaking after a primer draw to clear the chamber and a good mouthfull of juice.

Im dropping it back in the mail for replacement in the morning. Maybe I will have better luck the 2nd time around.

These triple coils won't die. Still on the same one from August 1. I don't think the flavor is quite as good as week 1 but it's more than acceptable. I have had to fill this particular tank up at least 20 times if not more. Not to mention all the high wattage abuse.
Any recommendations on priming these coils?

2 questions for Tfv4 owners,,,

1) have you noticed any condensation/fog on the inside of glass of the tank (above the point of wherever the juice is filled to). And if so, any idea what that might be from? I've never noticed this from any of my other subohm tanks.

2) a lot of people have been remarking about the lifespan of these coils,, although i'm not sure if i've seen much about what level you can use them to, before refilling. In other words, with the quad coil, there are 4 vertical "vents". Do you guys make a habit of refilling as soon as the top-most vent is not saturated in liquid anymore? Or do you vape it down to nearly the bottom? And what have your results been like either way?

Thanks in advance!

Cannot comment on 1, I vape until the tank is just about empty on both coils. Meaning super low, at the bottom of the wicking holes or last wicking hole on Quad.

I don't recommend priming these coils. They wick quickly on their own. Just let the tank sit for a minute and given it a dry draw for a sec and then fire up 60-70 watts to get them warmed up.

you can vape till the tank is bone dry as the coils hold up a ridiculous amount of liquid. You will do a vape and then all the rest of the juice is sucked in the coil and tank is empty. That is the point that you need to refill.

Because it has so much liquid "reservoir" you will notice some slight burnt hits before it burns out completely :)

I've been vaping on my quad coil for 3 days or so. Probably 5 tankfuls at most. Mostly between 90-100 watts, never going over 110. I disassembled the tank today to do some routine cleaning and noticed that the cotton in the coil is black. I'm using 90vg cereal killa. Was surprised to see the cotton so dark after just a few days and operating it way under it's max specs. Coil still tastes fine, i'm just a little hesitant to keep using it after seeing the condition of the cotton. Anyone else look at their coils? Thoughts?

My quad coil just turned a week old today. I used the triple coil yesteryday all day and swapped back at night, my quad coil looks fine other than a bit of gunk on the coils themselves. I've been vaping only out of this tank this whole time at around 80w, but have taken it all the way up to 150 while finding the sweet spot for myself.

I wonder If I am the only one that happend to receive two Quad coils instead of the rebuildable. really wanted to try rebuilding on it. I can't remember the review I seen but some guy got two rebuildables and no Quad coil. he probley got mine lol. I am about ready to give the quad a try as the tricoil is tasting off after getting a slight dry hit,
