does anyone use 6mg in this tank? i use 6mg 70vg and i get very harsh throat hit... so not sure if its the new coil, the juice is bad or i need 3mg with this tank..

I'm getting this too...6mg, but my power isn't very high at all. I don't know what I'm doing wrong? Maybe the coil isnt broken in yet...

At 40-50 watts i get nothing, at 60-75 watts (as high as I can go right now) it's a very harsh, hot hit. Well it feels hot anyway, but it shouldn't be? It's pretty unpleasant.

For some reason the pre-built coils on the TFV4 Mini just don't work for me. I don't know if I got duds or not. Very harsh vape, just whisps of vapor at 30W, and anything above that is super harsh, unvapeable. Maybe I didn't prime correctly? No idea.

Good news is, I did a build on the RBA and it's AWESOME! Just a simple 0.7ohm kanthal build, but massive vapor and great flavor. Got this for the RBA anyway so, I'm happy!

Dunno if there are enough differences between the standard and Mini for a seperate thread, but whatever goes. :)

That is strange, none of them are giving a nice vape? They do get hot, have you tried opening AFC on BOTH the tank and the drip tip? If that doesn't cool it off, and it is just harsh, I would have to think either not primed correctly or dud coils. But if its all of them? Not primed

Yeah, all of them...well, it came with 2 (and the RBA pre-built), the 6 coil and the 3 coil. Both were either duds, or I did not prime correctly. Both got extremely hot, like, untouchable hot, even at low wattages. My RBA builds are fine.

Yes you can't buy them, I had my suppler strip a tank and send them me...but the only other way is to buy another TFV4.

if you have a bonyard of older rta's....you can find ones that will work. the lemo2 comes with black orings that are about the same size, i'm running those in the chimney seal and the bottom of the rta deck seal, and they're working great plus don't get destroyed when tightening it down snug.

Hi guys.I have the Kanger sub tank and the mini sub. Looking for something a little better. I have a few questions how does the TFV4 rba compare to the Kanger sub tank? I don't use it much but was wondering if it was worth getting the full package vs the simple. Another question I have the site I buy from says the TF-T2 Dual Coil Air Core 1.5 ohm is low wattage. I have several mods but none over 70 watts would that be good enough?. I am looking to get the Sigelei 150W TC Mod or what mod would you guys suggest?

Any help or insight would be appreciated

because the tfv coils are HUGE it gives you a decent sized base to build on. you also have the option of a single and dual coil deck for the TFV4 regular and mini. i have heard nothing but good things. i have done some messing around with them and they are pretty easy to build on but dont have too much experience with actual vaping. im too happy with the prebuilt coils right now.

It's a little bigger, not too much different.

You'll surely be vaping at well below 70W on a 1.5ohm coil, you should be good to go.

I'm shopping around in that power/price area too...I would go with the IPV3 LI over the Sigelei 150W TC, but that's just me...they are similar. :) Take a look at the IPV3 LI though, it's a bit more feature-full, though I can't tell you from personal experience which is better.

imho, get the full package (dual coil rta deck and single the full kit includes) on lower wattage the single rta works great with vertical (chimney) coils. the sigelei 150tc is a great mod...there are other (better?) options, but it's a very popular (tried and true) mod.
to compare the subtank to the tvf4 is like comparing a ford focus to a mustang....not really a comparison. the tvf4 exceeds in flavor, vapor production, ease of building (subtank is tight, not a lot of room to work in), airflow etc.
one drawback is that it SUCKS the juice down. the UD Zephyrus is a good contender. stock coils are good (stock coils on tvf4 are great in fact too) and it's easy to build on, doesn't have many leakage issues (assuming it's wicked properly).

I pulled the trigger on the Smok TFV4 with the Sigelei 150 tc. I looked at different MOD like the cube 2 IPV ect. I read and seen a couple of videos where the IPV3 LI didn't detect the tank had no juice running TC with the ti coils. Which scared me with the burning metal. I thought about going with the crown but chose the tfv4 instead. Right before I ordered it my oldest son said dad if I give you money can you get me one too. lol Thank you all for your advice.

PS I went with the full back kit.

I haven't read all 49 pages, so please excuse me if this has already been covered. I'm still figuring out the wicking for the rba section.

Meanwhile, with the quads and sextuples, I get great vapor, but the flavor tastes the same regardless of the juice and/or wattage used? :?:

The coils have been soaked over night and primed increments of 5. I'm not experiencing vaper's tongue. My other tanks/drippers taste great with the same juices.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

Because of the amount of cotton in the coils I found that old flavors linger. Giving it a rinse and leaving it to dry overnight and repriming it in the morning helped. However this uses a ton of juice. I have two of these tanks and all I ever use in them is one flavor each. It is generally my favorite flavor at the moment. I only change the flavor when I need to change the coil.

sometimes they get stuck to the bottom to a point where you have to break it for it to come off, some users have tried soaking it in water or vodka and it comes off easy, for some reason the bottom o-ring "sucked" on the glass

the newer one is reminiscent of the atlantis v1/v2 bottom orings from pictures/videos, i likey

On my full size, the glass is firmly "stuck" on the top cap....so I soak and wash that as a unit. At least until I get around to getting some spare parts.

Im to the point that I can hardly stand to use my TFV4... new coil, prime it, install it, fill the tank and let it sit for a good long time to ensure its nice and wet. start watts low and slowly ramp up to my favorite zone. First tank goes great. after I refill it, I get nothing but a burnt rubber taste. Im on my third quad coil nad constant burnt rubber taste. I have read about people getting it and they say it lasts about one tank. Well I used this tank on saturday, fought my way through my complete tank of burnt rubber flavored Pineapple cream, and yes the rubber taste went away. following two tanks were pretty good. filled again and let it sit overnight while I slept. Sunday morning right back to toasted rubber... got teh flavor to almost dissapear that after noon, and again this morning, toasted rubber. I would hate to think I got three bad coils in a pack of 5 coils, and at the price of the coils I dot really want to buy another pack if this is gonna keep up. I would much rather just buy another Crown and use it as a back up to my current crown.

I still have two new coils for it though, so I think tonight I am going to clean it and swap a new coil into it and see if teh old coil looks like it had a hot leg or if it was wicked with a trojan...
