I got my smok osub baby 80 watt about 2 weeks ago. It worked fine when I got it but recently, when I set the power to 50-55 watt, even with full tank of liquid, I get dry hits. My normal hit are about 3 seconds which is not long at all, and I let my coil soaked completely (about 15-30 minutes). Anyone else having the similar issue or had it and fixed it? I'm really confused rn.

I have a similar coil but I vape at a lower wattage, out of preference... a friend of mine has this and vapes at your wattage range, he swears by putting pinholes in the intakes - he was recommended that method by a vape shop and reckons he's never had a dry hit since and it really works - can't speak from personal experience, but maybe worth a try

Baby beast coils recently had a huge amount of defective coils that made the cotton too tight to wick properly. Take a razor blade and cut lines from top to bottom on your wicking stilts about half way theu the cotton and you should be all good. If that doesn’t work then try using any of these coils here I will list
  • Eleaf HW coils [30W Pick! - Consistent build quality]
  • Eleaf HW-1 SS316 coil [TC Pick! - Only TC offering]
  • E-XY T1 coils
  • Geekvape iM1+4 coils
  • iJoy XS coils
  • Jomo Tech Smartvape TC80 coils
  • Joyetech ProCore Aries coils [Do NOT fit 22mm tanks]
  • Joyetech ProCore C1-S MTL coil [MTL Pick! - Only MTL offering]
  • Sigelei SLYDR SM coils
  • SMOK TFV8 baby coils
  • Vapefly Fantasy Mini M8 coils
  • Vaporesso NRG coils [50W+ Pick! - Fantastic wicking w/o flooding]
  • Vaportech M4/8 coils
  • Vaptio Frogman coils
  • WOTOFO FLOW coils [40W Pick! - No spitback]

Only problem i ever had with the big baby beast was a funky "new coil" taste that took about 2 tankfuls to get rid of. I dont have this tank anymore but have noticed that coils for my other smok tanks, tfv 8 and tfv 12, dont taste like that anymore. I could have just been a bad production run that qc let go through. With a new coil, start at lowest wattage and gradually increase to "break in" the coil wires. Works for me.
