Sherid and Lacey's favorite conspiracy company answered the FDA today and said American production would begin in August. You can read the statement on the FDA under Press on their Web site. The theory, as I've understood the hush-hush posts, is that Smokefree Innoctec, based in Nashville, might be owned by Philip Morris, and this smokefree cigarette would be PM's answer to our electronic cigs. Note the two corporate logos copied into one piece of art below, with Smokefree on the left. Same three separations in crown, top of crown .. hmmm. Are they hinting something? Link is:

Interesting response to the FDA from them:

Smokefree Innotec, Inc. Addresses FDA Concerns About Electronic Cigarettes

"Nashville, TN – July 29, 2009 – Smokefree Innotec, Inc. (symbol: Pink Sheets - SFIO) (Welcome to the Future - Smokefree Innotech Inc.) issued a statement today referring to articles in USA Today and The New York Times of Wednesday July 22 and Thursday July 23rd regarding the FDA taking aim at electronic cigarettes. The national dailies stated that tests show that certain e-cigarettes contain “known carcinogens and toxic chemicals”, including diethylene-glycol (an ingredient used in antifreeze, printing ink, brake fluid and glue) and nitrosamine (which is used in rubber products, the tobacco industry, and - less concentrated - in beer and fish-products).

Thomas Schroepfer, President of Smokefree Innotec, stated, “The Company’s electronic cigarette was not among those tested and is completely different from those tested as we do not use any kind of transponder substance. We have received confirmations from industry sources with knowledge of our product design and manufacturing process that no carcinogens or toxic chemicals capable of polluting our product are used in the manufacturing process and that the design of our product ensures a lower consumption level of nicotine, while still providing satisfaction to the consumer"

No "transpnder substance"---sounds interesting.

The World's 1st Smokefree Cigarette

They must have a great publicist to spin this claim.

Wow. That just downplays all the hard work that e-cig companies and suppliers have been doing for years.

I like how they say "tobacco solution" LOL

I call shenanigans!! When you check their components area it clearly shows a device that receives a signal and automatically transmits another signal AKA a transponder device.

You inhale and that process heats a coil.

This could very well be PM in disguise. Many here on the forums are saying that this penny stock leads to signs of a SCAM? Sure would like to get the real scoop on this. All of here could actually benifit from the e-cig in many ways including financially and emotionally.

What, do these people live in a cave???? Everything on this site (which I agree is horrible) sounds like the e-cig doesn't already exist, like they are truly the first to market and have come up with something brilliant. I'm sitting her laughing my .... off trying to figure this out. What a joke.

And to top it off, it would appear they are planning to market to Europe first, huh?

Nashville execs say they'll launch 'smoke-free cigarette' on Venture Nashville

Eric, are you just going to leave me in suspense? If not an e-cig, then what exactly? It sure sounds like an e-cig from the website, they are just creating some of their own terms, like "zig". It is referred to an an "electronic stick" with batteries that get charged. It heats a coil to evaporate a tobacco solution.

It it looks like a rose and it smells like a rose.......

I would have to guess that 9 out of 10 people don't know that a electronic cigarette even exists. You can bet that if this is PM, people will know about what a e-cig is in a hurry and think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They will be seen in every convenience store ect.
