Smokeless Tobacco Nonsense from E-Cig Vendor

I might expect such nonsense from others, but when the disinformation comes from an e-cigarette vendor, it raises my hackles. If you are going to market a product, you need to educate yourself on all aspects and issues involved.

In the above blog, the owner of Safe Cig repeats the American Heart Association propaganda regarding smokeless tobacco. I left this comment:

Furthermore, smokers are exposed to over 4,000 chemicals created by the process of combustion, many of which are toxic or carcinogenic. Have you looked at the research done on Swedish snus? There is little difference in health-adjusted life expectancy between smokers who switch to snus and smokers who stop using all forms of tobacco. Neither does snus use lead to smoking. The gate swings in the other direction. It is not necessary to give up nicotine to obtain permanent smoking abstinence, as about a million electronic cigarette users can attest. Thanks from me too. I don't recall you ever mentioning having used anything but a PV, but you studied the facts and have provided great contributions to the smokeless world and its defense. The anti's have done a good job in misinforming the public to the degree that even on this forum I've felt like the ....... child on several occasions. Seeing how the government has mishandled the ecig phenomena with outright lies, I believe it's folks like you who help everyone step back and take a more discriminating look at what the FDA and our lawmakers are feeding us.
