It's amazing that our government isn't more supportive of vaping as a method of cessation. In almost every article written these days vaping is mentioned as a cause for the decline in cigarette use. One death every 6 seconds is staggering!

"tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death, experts say.

Active or passive smoking kills more than seven million people every year, according to the WHO, with tobacco consumption blamed for the death of on average one person every six seconds."

It is mind boggling isn't it. To be fair, there are so many risky things that are just accepted by society and etc. I mean, I've heard prescription drugs kill more people than illicit ones. I tend to believe it, but I'm also not saying there should be no medicines, either. It's just... everything is an inherent risk.

No one in (todays) society wants to hear vaping is safer (for the most part) but it is indeed mind boggling how dangerous tobacco can be. I travelled pretty far down the "smoking related illness trail" and if vaping had not been there, I'm fairly certain I may not have reached my fifties. Now I have SOME hope at least. LOL.

I am so glad no doc was ever willing to give me Chantix, and well, the "State tobacco sponsored quit line" WANTED to, but by then I was like, "Um, I hear that's a really really bad idea."
"But it's all you haven't TRIED."
LOL I am searching for work, I could be a "quit specialist" and just advise everyone to vape and slooowly over the "long drawn out process" of quitting, I bet I could get them making their own juice and whatnot."

But, as someone who has been PLENTY homicidal/suicidal for some of my life, I really don't want to INDUCE it.

Chantix only works to quit permanently if you off yourself in the process. I still can't believe it's on the market, other than to torture/punish smokers. For reals. I don't get it.

I only know of ONE mentally ill dude who had a great experience, he wanted to keep taking it full time, states it improved his depression. He was not smoking a year later, but still agitating his doc to give him Chantix full time. I guess there are outliers in any population, but I don't want to be a guinea pig.

And HUH, it's my ECF vaperversary, I guess that's the date I joined. I guess in a couple weeks it is my QUITTING anniversary which holy HELL, I seem to be doing okay so far, even with all my life stuff. Here's hoping my LIFE stuff will not make me SMOKE, LOL, but even IF?

I'm not taking Chantix.
