I think I may have stopped smoking. Can't remember when I had my last one, and not feeling like I will be having another one anytime soon.
If I had to guess, it was probably 2 weeks ago, but it's not a date that I care to recall, nor put a banner up. When I quit cold turkey in the 90's, then that sort of thing seemed very important to me, but not so much anymore.
eCigs, or more precisely, vaping simply takes care of the cravings. You don't think it'll work that well the first time you hear of it, much less the first few puffs you have of it. But reality is, it works way way better than every other method I'm familiar with, including cold turkey. I still think cold turkey is the best method of them all, but not necessarily the easiest, nor the easiest to stick to.
Just 2 weeks ago, I was a proud moderate smoker. I've been vaping over 2 years now, and was pleased as punch to go from 1+ pack a day down to less than a pack a week. Heck, I'm still proud of that desire to be a moderate smoker. I refuse to hate on smoking, just like I refused it when I went cold turkey. I still think anyone / everyone that has a problem with any level of smoking, isn't being helpful. I just can't see a problem with having a smoke say every other day. No health problem, no economic problem, no real psychological problem. Perhaps a societal problem, but whatever. I still think moderate smoking rules. In 2014, I've bought exactly one pack of smokes. Up to 2014, I didn't think such a proposition was possible, and now I know it is, and it is even more liberating than cessation. Believe me, I've gone cold turkey for 8 years, and feel I know of what I speak.
Yet, the cravings have disappeared so much and am dealing with just enough health stuff to have me consider another indefinite break from smoking. 2 weeks ago, I didn't think that would happen, and yet here I am. A not-so-proud non-smoker, but still happy.
Because vaping rules.
