They can't ban the hardware (vaporizers), only the liquid being sold/pre filled carts.

Vaporizers are legal (for sale) in the following states which I can 100% confirm: WA, OR, CA, CO, TX, FL, MO, NH, MA, RI, CT NJ, DE MD, VA, NC, and many more states which I can't confirm 100%

The majority of vaporizor parts, which are atomizers, come from china. Very few are made in the USA.

There will only be a black market for the liquid, your correct.

Smoke 0-nic, I plan on reducing to that point.

Hardware, I'm always going to be getting from China.

Now I live in the USA, I can walk 1/2 mile to 1 mile and hit 2 headshops and buy vaporizer hardware legally. If you live in a country where this stuff is banned already, then yeah....all e-cigs are already banned for you.

The FDA has classified both the device & the liquid as a "Drug/device Combination". Unless manufacturers & suppliers all change the name of the devices and all separate the liquid from the devices, then the devices will be banned too. I felt the way you did, once (There's no way they will ban the devices), but Tropical Bob set me straight on that. The devices have been sold with the liquid for too long, and they have had the name "Electronic Cigarette/Cigar" too long for the FDA to be fooled by any marketing changes now. Our only hope now is to delay the inevitable as much as possible, and find a way (legal or not) to get around the inevitable once the ban kicks in. It sucks, but it is true.:-x

can anyone tell me what to tell people when they ask me why would the FDA be banning this???? i dont know what to tell them.. LOL... maybe because i really dont understand it....

This letter to a supplier will explain everything, although it is quite indepth:

Once you have read this, you should fill out the petition if you want to support the cause for these devices:

Thank you!

Just an FYI...
A research company contacted me and is doing clinicals on a few brands of electronic cigarettes. SOOO if you are a supplier, who sells cartridges that are MEASUREABLE (meaning you have statistical reliabity in the amount of liquid that is in those cartridges), please contact me if you want to be a part of it.

The testing will cover lung function (vital capacity, etc), global well being, oxygen saturation of red blood cells at baseline and at 30 days and possibly one or two other variables. This will be the first study of its kind and would be published in a national or international scientific journal. It is the type of thing that could gather a great deal of attention. The brand name of any electronic cigarette they test will appear in the article.

You would have to be willing to donate probably 25-50 starter kits, and 25-50 person supply of cartons of cartridges. Please email me at sebastian@libertystix.com if you are interested....with INDEPENDENT STUDY FOR E-CIG SUPPLIERS.

Cheers,
Sebastian

P.S. I think they are looking for 2 or 3 more brands....so get at me quick. thx

Did you post this in the suppliers private forum? You should if you haven't.

Jane called me Saturday morning, it was the atomizers that were holding everything up, I'm all set now, ordered the "Ultimo" with some extra batteries, atomizers and some juice.

I really, really like her juice and her service has always been good for me :) Glad you got that worked out :)

The headshop thing is a good analogy, actually. Here in Florida, the only way you can buy a .... is if you state you are using it to burn tobacco in. I once went to a headshop down here by UCF and asked for a .... because it was my roomate's birthday and he was the king of all weeds. I got thrown out for mentioning or alluding to marijuana. That's the only way they could get a license to operate.

I think ecigs may go the same way, online at least. Like you can't make health claims. Let forums like this one make health claims because the forum isn't selling them. You know what they are for, everyone knows what they are for, you just can't say what they are for.

That smoking everywhere video is frightening. Likely they are the ones responsible for this mess to begin with.

And to get 'new drug' approval through the FDA takes something like 7 to 10 years. Even then they don't necessarily approve it.

Yes, you can get these off the internet and will likely be able to after the ban. But this will really screw over all the little independent vendors because more bulk orders will get siezed. Vendors like 'smoking everywhere' will get kicked out of malls (which might not be a bad thing tbh, judging by that video :D).

Are you able to give us any more info on this "independent study"? Maybe who is funding it? Who initiated the study? Who is taking part in it? Anything would be appreciated.

The study is going to be done by Parker Research Institute, at Parker College in Dallas.

They are funding it as long as they are provided the equipment and product.

They initiated contact with me last week.

Smokers are taking part in it.

They are also going to make the distinction between sources of product (American made liquid vs Chinese or European liquid), and the safety based on their safety....basically Step one of our process will be to have the vapor chemically analyzed. A requirement of any research project on humans is to submit the study to an "Institutional Review Board" to assure they are not doing something to the subjects that is dangerous to them. When you consider the dangers of smoking a less dangerous alternative, even if it is somewhat dangerous, it would be acceptable. In this case they are going to be testing folks who would be smoking anyway... so the safety issue will be compared to the dangers of cigarette smoke, which I think many of us will agree is more hazardous...

The only funding needed is the 25-50 units and the cartridges for those people.

The Doctor at Parker who is doing the study is Dr. Dwain Daniel...google him.

This would be a formal arrangement with a contract. Parker would be able to submit the article for publication regardless of the outcome of the study . ( It's one of those integrity things in the research community.)

That's all I know....that and the fact that I am doing it. If any suppliers are interested let me know. I don't have time to keep answering a bajillion questions more about it though. It's 25-50 units, and probably a couple thousand carts. However, if you can't afford to part with that financial commitment in product, don't PM me about it etc, there's nothing I can do to get you in the study..... :)

Just to add some more info here, Parker College is a Chiropractic College. Dr. Danial is a chiropractor. Chiropractors do not have medical degrees. No bias here, I go to a chiropractor occasionally, and my cousin is even a chiropractor. Just want to let everyone know.

The research part of the college has other people involved, including a chinese pharmacology PhD. I have no idea if his degree is accredited in the US.

Again, I'm not trying to raise any doubt about the credibility of the study. I honestly have no idea if the information I found on their website is a plus or minus to the study. All of their other studies have been chiropractic related.

Thank you so much for your efforts! :D It is about time that a supplier steps up to the ultimate responsibility of this industry. Regardless of the outcome, you have my respect! :thumb:

I would really like to know what mall this kid is at and who he gets his information from. My guess is he is just making things up. Which is TOTALLY wrong! It is people like him that get SMOKING EVERYWHERE in trouble and cause issues with the FDA and Government. The problem with all these little carts at the malls is that SMOKING EVERYWHERE has been allowing anyone to open and represent them. With little or NO training on people skills or sales. Some dont even have to speak english! They just point to the flat scree T.V.!! So what is happening is the carts are popping up all over the place... people selling the products don't understand what it is they are selling and they dont know all the facts or laws so they MAKE **** UP! I have seen under cover videos of these people at these "smoking everywhere" carts saying things to customers that are COMPLETELY NOT TRUE. It really sucks for the company and those who are marketing the RIGHT way for them. Smoking Everywhere needs to do a better job SCREENING the people they allow to sell their product and require training so things like this dont continue to happen. They do carry a manufacture warrenty. And the design has gotten better. I hope they continue to clean things up before it's too late.
