Hello to the forum members! I've been lurking here, gathering info, for about a week. I was initially confused about everything that is needed to begin using e-cigs, how to use it, and some other questions, but after reading here for awhile I was able to get most of my answers! I was still a bit leary of exactly what I needed to order, and didn't want to be talked into unnecessary products, so I just ordered a basic starter kit for the Joye510. I decided on the Joye510 after seeing how many forum members own one themselves. Thank you for providing a forum to discuss and educate ourselves about e-cigs. And thank you to the ones who post here- you have given me a wealth of info, opinions, and made my decision to switch to e-cigs much easier. I ordered my starter kit today and I'm excited about getting one!
I wish I had known about e-cigs before I ended up with acute sinusitis- I'm only in my 30s and have already paid a hefty toll on my physical health for my years of smoking. I'm also going to require reconstructive surgery on my nose! Sadly, I had a warning sign, about how dangerous cigarettes are, in my late 20s when I ended up in the ER for a spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse for no reason). I stupidly told myself that I'd only been smoking for 10 years and that I hadn't been smoking long enough to have any smoking-related problems- but I knew the truth and pushed in to the back of my mind.
I just kept telling myself, "I've got plenty of time to quit smoking before cancer or other big health problems begin." That time has long passed.
This is only my 2nd serious attempt to quit smoking. I know e-cigs aren't 100% safe but it sure beats the many hazards of smoking real cigarettes. Plus, an e-cig is comporable to really smoking a cigarette so I hope it helps with the psychological aspect of quitting. I'm going to decrease the nicotine amount gradually and then switch to enjoyable flavors.
That's my story and I looked forward to posting here!
