I think a couple months later I gave away a bic lighter I was hanging on to for some reason.
I'm never giving away my bic lighter, that thing is useful! :)
Funny.. last Thanksgiving, we had candles on my grandmother's table. They were wanting to light them, and when someone said "who has a lighter?" most of them looked at me.... I just had to shrug them off and say "I don't have one, I don't smoke anymore".. that was my most satisfying time. Luckily, my grandmother had a pack of matches.. probably dating 10 years old.

See? Useful! :)

It was a little white 350 mah eGo that let me know it would replace my smoking. I still had about a 1/2 pack when I bought the eGo, and over a few days, I smoked them. A long good-bye, I guess. :p My "souvenir" is that little white eGo.

I think if I kept cigs around, I'd give in and have a smoke when I have those very infrequent cravings. But by the time I quit the habit after 47 years, I felt so enslaved by cigarettes that I don't want any temptations that might get me back on them. I'm really afraid I'd soon be off and running again with a full blown addiction. Now, I don't even need the nicotine anymore. I'm going to leave well enough alone!

I had a last pack, that i bought before My vaping stuff got here. When my vaping stuff arrived, I was determined not to buy another pack... I had a little over a pack when it got here. I was PAD almost. First day I smoked 10. I smoked 5, next day 2 next day (after both my batteries died at the same time, I smoked 1 more.

Remember having 4 left. Threw them in the top of the closet type thing I have (Sectioned, so the top of the closet is not the closet, its a seperate compartment) behind a box. anyways, few weeks later. Figured I would go back to them... Was disgusting.
So I just broke em up. Im sill pretty determined on the the fact that I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PACK. So, Having it around could have led to smoking. Not, Since not so many of my friends here smoke, means I dont have the option to smoke unless I buy a pack. And I wont, so... Its good. I like being forced not to do something.

I never ever ever ever wanna touch another cigarette again.
Mind, Had a weak moment where at a vape meet a guy lit up, and I took a drag... but i dunno why... dont wanna now...

A local B&M store, Diversity, has a "Wall of Fame" where the last packs of customers who have quit smoking are hung on the wall - with quit dates.

Pretty cool public souvenir, it seems to me, though I've still got a full pack in the freezer. (I'm pretty new to this, only 7 days totally cig-free, and just knowing that I'm not out of cigarettes keeps me from smoking them! Strange logic, but it's working for me.)

I had most of a carton left when I quit. I kept them around for a while in case this experiment didn't work. But, it did. And, after a month or so, I gave the rest away.

I do still keep a lighter on me because fire is useful for more than just smoking.

The one souvenir I have is the little waterproof container that's designed to keep matches in when camping or fishing. It holds 7 cigarettes, or rather it DID hold 7 cigarettes. Now, it holds my little 10 ml needle-tip bottle of juice.

I agree. I've used the several I had left in a 5-pk to flame kanthal! I'm on my last one now, guess I'll have to buy some more. I just can't see buying a flame-producing gizmo that has ONE purpose; lighters have ALL KINDS of useful purposes.

And I think this silly thread made me have a smoking dream just before I woke up this morning. In the dream, I ran out of the house hollering at my husband, "I don't have any cigarettes!" and he looks at me like I'm crazy and sez "I know, you quit, remember?" But I insisted he go buy some. So he comes home with the cheapest generics he could find. I light one, take a couple hits, and think, man this is even worse than I thought it would be. :D

Of course this is part of the reason I DO still have some cigarettes, in the freezer, because I wouldn't put it past him to do exactly that and buy the cheapies, if I really did have a wild hair to get some cigarettes. :D

PapaSloth;14168862 Who here still has their "last pack" of cigarettes? If you don't said:
I finished my last pack, but the butts of the last two I smoked are still sitting in an ashtray on my desk as a reminder. One day I'll toss the whole thing out, but for now, I just chuckle at the ashtray while I'm vaping... :)

I had 7 packs left in a carton of cigarettes. They sat around in the fridge for months. October 2012 to January 2013. We moved from Philly to Florida and I made the decision that they were not traveling with me. I admit to a moment of panic when Hubby and I did a ceremonial disposing of them into the garbage. It was just a fleeting, very fleeting moment. :)

This October....OMG next month!....will be two years smoke free. I haven't been able to even claim a year before discovering vaping and ECF. The longest quit (and cheated during that time) was 9 months of pure hell. Thinking about cigs daily in that whole 9 months. I can honestly say that if I do ever think about a cig, it is just as fleeting as my panic over disposing of that carton.

The jet flame lighters I bought when I smoked aren't going anywhere - they're handy for heat-shrink sleeve and the occasional hot melt glue job when I can't be bothered fetching the glue gun.

I had 6 packs of American Spirits when I found vaping and quit my 13 years of smoking almost instantly. I kept them in my car and gave them to the homeless in my city. I admit it was hard giving away that last pack. I kept my Zippo collection and vintage ash trays though! I just hit 2 years smoke free in August!

I feel exactly like you, I am smoking the few cigs I have left as a good bye and I am confident I can move on, if I keep them they will only linger in my mind all the time and i don't want to decide to smoke them in 3 months so better get it done with.!

I'd throw those away... it would serve you right to taste bad cigarettes.. you don't want to start again after all do you?

Two weeks into vaping full time, a friend of mine brought me several packs of Canadian cigarettes, the ones with the really graphic images - i accepted one pack to be polite - it's been sitting on top of my workstation unopened since then...
I've kept all my lighters and all my ashtrays (now usually overflowing with vape gear vs cigarettes lol).
Lots of smoking gear around still - an unused hookah - hookah charcoal - various flavors of hookah tobacco... Lots of souvenirs - but no more smoke - it's just vapor...
I don't miss smoking at all...

I had 8 packs of ciggy's left when I quit. I kept them for about 3 months and sold 7 packs and used the money for more vape supplies. I have one pack in my freezer in my garage that I never think about, unless I tell my story. I haven't checked to see if my Hubbs has thrown them out. I really could care less. But I won't be without plenty of backups of my vape gear. I don't miss smoking at all after 30 years! I do have an ashtray set out, just in case someone smokes who visits... I don't like people smoking in my house anymore. But my husbands son smokes...
