SmokTech 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer is now 6.3 ohms?

I've been using SmokTech 1.5 ohm dual coil tank cartomizers for over four months. I've replaced them when the wicking material has burned or when the flavor starts to taste muted. A few days ago I filled a new tank (IBTanked) with MBV Salted Caramel with a new SmokTech 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer. Starting yesterday it seemed to have diminished flavor. When I check the ohms my Provari shows that the resistance is now 6.3 ohms!

I've never had this happen before. Has this happened to anyone? Can someone explain what might have occurred?

Make sure the 510 connection is clean and maybe try pulling down the center pin on the cartomizer. A spike like that I assume is from a poor electrical connection, as thats the only time I've had that happen to me.

That was a good suggestion, but pulling out the center post didn't help, not that I expected it to as I get the same reading on my multimeter.
