Still in the newbie classification due to lack of posts. Have read the threads regarding replacement cartos for tanks.
The posts were helpful, but didn't completely address my specific issues. Recently purchased a couple of 3ml SmokTech carto tanks. The first fill worked like a charm, even with 100%VG Bobas Bounty. The problems came with the replacements. I could not get the replacement cartos to wick. The recommendation made was to enlarge the hole in the carto. I unfortuneatle ruined the carto trying to do this. Another recommendation was to use no more than 30% VG mix.
Tried using 100% PG juice, this worked for a time, but carto still dried out.

It would appear my only resolution would be to find a best way to enlarge the wick hole in carto, without damaging the carto. Previous attempt was with a 1/16 drill bit and cordless dress, holding carto in a vise.

As a side note, my attempt to enlarge the hole on carto produced no visible damage to the exterior of the cartomizer. It simply would not draw after enlarging the hole.

I use Bobas in a Smoktech 3.5ml tank with no problems. The pre-punched hole is def too small though to feed that thick of a juice in. I put the carto in a vice, then using a hammer and finishing nail, made the hole bigger. For a 100%VG juice, I put another hole the same size on the other side as well.
Try that and it should def help, but go slow. You can always keep making the hole alittle bigger until its the right size, but if you make it too big right off the bat, it will just flood the carto and you'll have to use a new one.

Also you have to remember to do dry pulls. I think dry pulls are the single MOST important thing you need to do to make a tank work correctly, and it's even more important when your using thicker juices. Even if the punched hole or holes are big enough, alot of times the tank won't feed enough juice on its own to constantly keep the carto wet. Doing dry pulls will force juice into the carto and ensure it stays wet.
For thin juices I do short hard pulls to feed the juice into the carto and that works well. For my tank that has Bobas in it though, I find doing longer hard pulls works better. Try doing a long pull and suck as hard as you can basically. That will force the thick juice into the carto and make sure it stays wet. When you do dry pulls you should see air bubbles come out of the punched hole. With thinner juices I get a bunch of little air bubbles, but with a thick juice like Bobas, I get a single fairly big airbubble with each long dry pull. If your not getting airbubbles then the hole prob needs to be made bigger, unless the cartos already full. Keep doing dry pulls until you dont get airbubbles anymore or your only getting very small ones. Thats how you know the carto is wet again. Do that periodically while vaping and it will ensure your carto always stays wet.

Hope that helps

I dont recommend using a drill. The bit will most likely catch the filler and can mess up the carto and/or break a connection. A saddle valve works really well, or If you don't have one, a hammer and finishing nail works just as well, especially when your just trying to make a pre-punched hole bigger.
