smoktech dual coil 2ohm advice

can anyone shed some light on this subject.
I have tried dual coil cartos on just about every voltage on my provari v2 and cant seem to get loads of vapour or flavor from these things that everyone raves about.
Am I doing something wrong.is there a knack to getting these things to vape properly.
they do get very hot and the th isnt a pleasant one.any advice welcome.

I used them for a good year. Add 40-45 drops. Let it soak for 20 minutes. I stopped using them because the quality changed. I hope they vape better. Please let me know if they get better.

YW, I've also been adding less drops to my cartos lately. Keep the center air hole dry.

On a dual coil you have to run double the voltage you would normally run. The Provari will not go to 8 volts and if you did the current draw would be too high. Normally for 8 watts and 2 ohms all you would need is 4 volts. Her is a calculator I use that you might find useful

Forgot to say that apparently the dual coils are in parallel. So you have two 4 ohm coils in parallel which is 2 ohms.

You can ignore the coils in series as they don't do that apparantly.

Yeah. I liked 2 ohm dual cartos between 4.8 - 5.2 volts

About 40 drops (Slowly) avoiding the center hole. I normally put 15 drops, let sit, 15 more let sit, then another 8 to 10.....you should be good to go. 4.5 to 5 volts does it for me with the same set up.

It could be that you just prefer a cooler vape. I personally found the dual coils to be too harsh. Once I switched to single coils (which by the way you CAN use in a dual coil tank ), I was a happy camper. I've observed better battery life since I made the switch, too.

You might want to increase your carto resistance to 3.0 ohm, which is what I use on my Provari, for a cooler vape. I'll provide links to what I use and recommend:

I prefer a two hole laser-drilled carto to punching my own holes. It just provides me with more consistancy carto to carto, and removes any human error involved. I also put a wooden tooth pic into the air hole when prepping the carto with juice (to keep juice out of there), insuring that is is moist with the appearance of a slurpy drink.

I use 2ohm single coil, Personally I cant tell much of a difference in vapor production between dual or single & the single coils are a little cheaper, Could be your pg vg ratio as well

I didn't notice how much juice the demo guy recommended to use. It's been weeks since I last watched it all the way through.

I like this particular demo because it uses a nice camera angle to see what is going on easily, and he explains the steps well. He also goes over both filling the carto and also the tank in the same video. I also prefer the drip in the top fill method over the condom fill method. Just a personal preference.

I don't count the number of drops I put in. I put a tooth pic into the airhole to keep juice out, and drop juice in until it looks like a wet slushy drink, occassionally shaking it like a thermometer.

Batitude. I horned in on your advice because I'm always looking for tank cartos. The PUNCH 510 you gave the link too. It's not flanged. I was going to order another one I haven't ride and it's not flanged either so I hesitate. Maybe you can tell me. My tank has a groove? Or cut out for the flange part pop in. If I use a carto without the flange will get leaking? I know I could buy one and try but I don't think I'll be needing anything for quite some time and shipping makes one carto kinda expensive. Lmk if your still here. Thank you

In the video I counted about 30 drops in the dry carto,Maybe thats the norm.

Best advice I can give you is to go back to single coil.I hated dual coils.I prefer a cooler vape to begin with and they made all my fruit juices taste like they were burnt no matter the voltage.

If you want plumes of vapor consider switching to a higher percentage of VG in your e-juice blends.

It is not necessary to get replacement cartos with a flange. The only requirement is that the carto and tank are of the same length. Depending upon how well your individual tank holds a carto will determine if the tank will slide accidentally up or down the unflanged cartomizer. I'm just careful not to grab my mod by the tank only. Out of several different brands of tanks, I've not had any slide so much on an unflanged carto that it leaked juice. Hope that helps.

I suppose the first question is, are you using a Tank with a cut/drilled smoktech or just using the standard smoktech 'carto' on its own?
The second question would be, if you are using the standard smoktech 'carto' on its own, do you use a drip tip or are you just using the supplied 'rubber like' tip, because they do get pretty warm when used a lot.

I/We use heaps of the standard 1.5 ohm smoktech's here (there are 3 vapers in our house) and love them for all of our juices (mixed at 85% PG and 15% VG), for me, they have a smooth and easy draw, heaps of TH, a really nice 'crackle' and clouds of vapor (juice dependant).

There is some good advice already on this thread, but because I use a version of this 'carto' all day and every day, I hope I can help a little.

1. They do need 40 drops to fill from new (10 drops at a time, rotating the carto, and pausing for 10 - 20 seconds between fills)
2, They do need to stand vertically for 5 to 10 minutes after final filling (look for slight leakage from bottom to indicate that the carto is fully filled - if no leakage - add a few more drops)
3. Always do a couple of shallow draws without pressing the power button on a newly filled 'carto'.
4. Replace the 'carto' every 2 days if using dark colored juice and every 3 days if using light colored or clear juices.
5. I found the chart, thumbnail below, at (Variable Voltage Devices) to be just about perfect for the smoktech 1.5ohm (using the point where green meets red)
6. Break the carto in - use a lower voltage at first (keep in the Green Zone on the chart) - and then move voltage up if required.
(especially on a Provari, from what I have heard from the 'Vets')

You cannot use "low resistant" atties or cartos on a Provari. The 2.8 ohms or 3 ohms will give you leeway while the 2.0 ohms will burn at low voltage.

That's strange, this 1.3 ohm HH-357 on my Provari is making it difficult to see my computer screen through the cloud of vapor right now.

The reason that Provape came out with the V2 Provari was so that a higher amp limit would accommodate DCC's.
5.2 volts is the max limit with a 1.5 ohm DCC on a provari (3.5 amps)
