I understand bluetooth, I just dont see much benefit.

I'm one of "those" who say "it's dark outside, time to sleep" and "the suns up, time to work".

One of the benefits is so you can make adjustments to the device such as, wattage and the various temp control settings
and I imagine other things as well, I have to assume it will be an easier interface from the phone as opposed to scrolling thru the screens with on the device itself

As per SMOK's website, the App requires Androind 4.3 or higher to function.
Those with 4.2, 4.1 or older, can give xda-developers forum a look. Chances are, your device can be re-flashed with a custom ROM, which is based on a newer Android version.

Unfortunately not Dell Venue 8 owners.

I could be wrong on this one, but I do believe that some adjustments can be done ONLY via the app?
Could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that some review mentioned that TCR and other more advanced things require the app?

I got this phone at Wal-Mart....$50, Android 4.4, quad core processor,4.5" screen...you could pick up something like that just to use as a tablet/media device, and for the amok of course [emoji14]

Eh... someone said that it's as hard or as simple as you want it to be.
You can just use it in W mode, without all the bells and whistles. Or, you can go for TC, with coil selection, manual TCR adjustments, manual LED effects and so on.

Sounds quite possible, I'm not sure either
