I agree, the cost of college textbooks is outrageous! This semester it cost over $1k for my son's books:shock:....luckily he got a full scholarship to Ole Miss so the cost is covered...there's no way we'd be able to afford them if it wasn't for that!

Back when I was in Jr College (1971) one of the books I had to buy was $50 used.
First day of class the prof. said we would not be using the book even though we were required to buy it, we would be tested on his lectures and at the end of the class the book store would buy it back for $5.00.:-x
I have had that happen a couple of times. Nothing like throwing $45 down the drain for no reason!! :(

That's what mine would look like right now!

What operating system does it run? I am a Windows user. I HATE 8/8.1 and haven't completely installed 10 yet but I don't want to have to switch my OS this late in the game. Been using Windows since... what was before Windows 95? Since then. :D

It runs 8.1, but has the free upgrade to 10.

What did you go to school for? Thinking of going back.
Marketing in Digital and Social Media right now. I will just need a few more credits after this to get my business degree. :)

Off for a nap. Someone yell really loudly when SmokeyJoe comes back to announce the new contest. I'm sure GPC can be loud enough. [emoji14]

Of course he can...we all know what a big mouth he has! :p:laugh:

I guess we got off easy then. My daughter started college this semester. Her books were about $480. We were lucky enough to have saved some money for her college. Not enough to pay for all of it but a good start anyway.

Currently operating on either a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, or an HP Pavilion 17.3" laptop, AMD A8 quad core, with 8 GB RAM, 750 GB internal HDD, 1 TB external HDD, DVDRW, Logitech wireless mouse and trackpad. Think I spent $350 two years ago...

Here's my main workstation for playing on forums and such, kinda crappy board but hey:

My textbooks were $590.40 this semester. Luckily, I got reimbursed by this program called KEYS because I'm on medicaid, just had twins 3 months ago and am still working part time and trying to continue my education. If not, my student loans wouldn't have been enough. And I'm going to a community college for my 2 year before transferring.

Yeah it's really expensive for all of it...it costs like 24k a year for tuition, books, room and board just to go there!...I'm just glad he was really smart and got the scholarship! :D
