That's what mine would look like right now!

It runs 8.1, but has the free upgrade to 10.
I will check it out! I have GOT to get rid of this stupid Satellite. I was saving up for a nice laptop but my old Gateway died right in the middle of saving up and I had to settle for this one. It has not been right since day 1. Argh.

My textbooks were $590.40 this semester. Luckily, I got reimbursed by this program called KEYS because I'm on medicaid, just had twins 3 months ago and am still working part time and trying to continue my education. If not, my student loans wouldn't have been enough. And I'm going to a community college got my 2 year before transferring.
Good for you! And congrats on the twins! Boys or girls? I have twin boys...they'll be 21 this weekend! It's hard going to school with little ones around, but I did it when mine were little and worked 2 jobs at the time too...talk about being tired all the time!!!!

I guess we got off easy then. My daughter started college this semester. Her books were about $480. We were lucky enough to have saved some money for her college. Not enough to pay for all of it but a good start anyway.

It's good she went.. I set up a trust fund for my daughters (and son's) college - but she waited until she was 21 and cashed it out instead (since that was an option, college or waiting til they were 21 and cashing it out), said she wanted a house and a car rather than college..

In my daughters case it was good for her that she did because she died happy anyway.. I had simply wanted my kids to go to college..

It's nice to afford it though! College these days is so so so expensive!

Here's my main workstation for playing on forums and such, kinda crappy board but hey:
View attachment 486364

Not bad, though the pagefile is a total overkill, for a machine that already has more RAM than is needed for 'playing on forums and such'. :)
That's my humble opinion, anyway...

At the moment using:
HP EliteBook Folio 9470m
i5 3437U (full Intel vPro platform)
8Gb of RAM (no real need for more)
256Gb SSD
