You know those pre-wicked coils you get with some RBA/RDA attys? I never use them, because I really don't care for silica anymore, but I found a good use for them -- in my "gone all day" bag, along with whatever juice I'm using/taking with, and some cut up paper towel squares for quick cleanups. Just in case the worst should happen and I really have to replace a coil, those pre-made ones would at least keep me vaping. :thumb: My husband's always got screwdrivers and such, for any tools I might need, and I really don't go off for long periods unless we're together. It's just a small zipper pouch bag, I got at the dollar store; about 4" x 7". Ladies would know it as a "makeup bag." :)

hey guys, with the smok x cube 2, in tc mode, do you have to pay to upgrade to ss ? and then with ss can you build your own coils or do you have to use premade ones ? just wondering cause ive been reading alot of stuff around which confuses me
Don't believe you have to pay for to upgrade to ss. My buddy has the x cube II and he didn't even have to pay for TC or the titanium control. With SS you can build your own coils on the x cube II. That's for sure.

Unless they changed it in the past two to three days, you do have to pay for the upgrade. Apparently a non-TC version of the XCube 2 is available, and then you can add TC to it for $2.99. The one I have was purchased as a TC mod, so I did not need to pay the $2.99 for TC. The titanium TC profile also showed up for me as a 49 cent upgrade. I paid it, although some say that titanium was added for free in the firmware upgrade version 1.08. I bought the Ti upgrade before I updated the firmware, so I can't confirm whether Ti was added for free or not. With firmware version 1.091, they added the stainless steel TC profile as a 99 cent upgrade. Maybe in the future they will make the SS TC profile available for free, but as for now, it is a paid upgrade.

Well, you could debate the whole micro-transaction thing. One could make the argument that we've already paid enough for the mod, they shouldn't nickel and dime us for these extra features. The way I see it, the ability for them to make extra money by charging for added features gives them an incentive to add features in the future. If they can't charge for it, what incentive do they have to invest the time to come up with additional features. At least the price they charge is nominal. I might think twice if they were charging $5 for adding SS support. But at 99 cents, there's no reason not to.

Slippery slope.
How many years do we get out of an OS with continual support and enhancements without additional investment. Considerations should be in place and if additional cost are involved, should be pre-disclosed.

SX Mini M Class
Firmware updates / feature additions - no added cost.
Incentive - Customer Loyalty

It is a slippery slope. RE: SX Mini M Class, one could argue that since the SX Mini M Class sells for 3X the price of the XCube II, that feature additions BETTER be free. Also, at this point, since the SX350J has been out for several months now and has added Ti support, who is to say that YiHi will add SS support? I haven't heard anything nor do I know. What if YiHi decides not to add SS support but rather decides to come out with a new chip instead?

Another thing to consider... sometimes int'l tracking numbers don't mean a lot to the USPS. I ordered some shisha strawberry from Poland, and followed along with the int'l tracking number they provided, which worked fine, till it hit NYC ISC -- at which point, nothing changed, nothing updated, and 7 days later it arrived in my mailbox -- though according to tracking, it was still in the NYC ISC.

Andria
Pardon my ignorance but what is "shisha" strawberry?

Yihi is simply one example of need to be up front. Price is to Quality of build and reliability. I own about 35 mods now from many companies, mostly main stream and understand.
Pricing should be of least concern in support.
Warranty second, below actual Quality.
In business for 23yrs for myself and Manufacturer support was always of utmost importance in being successful.

* Nowhere on the packaging does it indicate Additional options for a nominal fee, does it?
With the list of same cost mods including Ni/Ti would you not think Smok should be following Market strategy, even if charging for an Additional Industry leading Feature, like SS profiles?

How does it go?
It isn't the money. It is the principal.
Next feature could be $3.99 and the one after $9.99 then what?

Remember, as long as there are those like me that say it is To much, we may prevent others from actually paying TO MUCH.:D
If no one says anything it always gets worse. :(

Are we having fun yet? I'm looking for the package of patience I left laying around here. I don't know what happened to it, I don't however suspect that it has been taken as none of us have any whatsoever.

You left the package open and it evaporated...

No hurry, no worry. It will come when it does and is not critical to my Vaping experience.;)
Already been locking at its TC signal(tested) and sad to say Smok's TC mini is smoother, though not nearly as smooth as several other devices.

I'm thinking, for me, once the New wears off this will be my Power mode play toy for occasionally blowing Big Clouds and Boosting flavor.
I've already got a free TC mods that do a very nice job and I still keep reaching for the IPV-mini2:lol: Old habit and good vape:thumb:

This will be my first TC, so I'm excited to try it out. It will have to be something pretty special to win top seat over my Tesla 120 and Maganus tank. Currently my constant vaping buddy. :D

I've got Woody (Vape shop owner)
and Tye (Vape shop owner)
and Angel (good friend)

# 1 and #2 sons

I also have arthritis in my hands so they do any and all that has to do with coils for me.
