I'd like to see them update the hardware to make the 5 click "lockout" actually lockout everything so that way it doesn't go into the settings in my pocket... That would be nice....

This drives me nuts, its why I'm thinking of buying something else.

The shoddy "temperature control" that doesn't even work is what's forcing me to buy something else.
It's the one feature I really needed and wanted, and it doesn't even work.

I will have to try it in nickel mode. I've been using it in titanium mode with no issue.

Also what exactly is it doing
It either puts out no vapour when I fire it or fires too hot and flames up and melts the coil.
The coil isn't an issue, I tried them all on my sigelei 75w TC mod, and all worked perfectly, but switching them over to the Xcube and they burn and melt.

Oh ...., maybe I won't try it then. Sounds a bit dangerous

Exactly.

Just like the m80. I'll bet there's hundreds of people out there that used nickel wire with the m80.

I almost fell for the lie that the m80 works in TC, luckily I never used nickel on mine because I had the foresight to do some google-fu.

But don't get me wrong, I still appreciate the mod, I can still use it in watt mode, I'm still thankful to ECF and SmokeyJoe and Smok for the competition and picking me as a winner! (I never usually get picked!)
I'm just a bit gutted the TC won't work.

Well, that's strange, I built a nickel build today and it seemes to work perfectly fine with constant temperature... maybe your unit is faulty?
Edit: Also, my tfv4 tank has a different gasket on the bottom, it's regular round one...

My tfv4 tank has orings that seal the tank from the side, not the bottom and top. Seals fine but the tank glass now sits glass to metal. I had my tank chip already when tightening it down after changing the coil. And then it straight up cracked and I had to replace the glass.

I think it would of been better to have the original design where the tank was sandwiched between 2 gaskets. I'm bummed that I already had to use my spare glass....

Mine has the same side sealing, bottom and top o-rings.
My glass came already chipped in two places.

Well, when I get mine it'll be a retail version. I wonder if there'll be a quality difference?;)
That was kind of my thought about the prizes. Old stock that they were not able to sell because of issues. Mine seems to be working well though.

Which would a terrible way to do it! These contests are supposed to be a sales promotion, lot's of happy winners saying how great their new toys are! If Smok is handing out bad runs to get rid of the stock, bad move!
I figured they would have fixed the oring issue, but that's still there lol.

Can anyone help me with wicking the single coil RBA deck? I keep getting burnt/dry hits. I watched a video, did it the same way, and still getting the same result. Even wrapped my own coil, 26g 6wrap at 3mm, instead of using the premade coils, and still no luck. Worked okay at first, with only the occasional dry hit, but now it's constant. =(

I did my dual using the Scottish roll style wick and this method bellow.

https://m.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/3k0toi/smok_tfv4_rba_wicking_guide/

Granted, I didn't cut it at 45°, I just tapered the Scot roll and fed it through the coil. After that I cut the roll so that way it would be puffy and cover the juice holes, then I grabbed a small bit of the puff and put it into the juice well....

If you look at the Reddit guide and look at the photos, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Here is the Scottish roll tutorial.

I forget who originally posted this vid in this thread, but they were a godsend. This is my favorite way of wicking now.
