Just ordered a couple of these to see how they compare to the sigelei kick clones. I got the sigelei for about $15 each (got 3 of them) and they work well for me, but they sold out very fast. There seems to be more of these in stock, at least right now. I'll post how they perform when I get them. The difference between these and the Sigelei as far as I can tell is:

Sigelei: 5-10 Watts
smok: 5-12 Watts (they say 3-12 on their page, but the scale etched on the devices says 5-12)

The Kick by Smok Tech

coupon: vortex
or: 10offmods
I think both work, both are 10%
comes to a bit over $13 each
66 left in stock when I posted this, there were 75 when I ordered about 30 mins ago.

edit: VJ posted this and poof, out of stock

The Sigelei and Smok that I have are holding up well. I don't take advantage of the higher potential output of the Smok, so that's not relavent. What is relavent, is that the Smoks can be had for as little as $13 when on sale.

Are they as good as the evolv Kick 1 & 2? In a word, no. And the primary and practical reason is, the Kick 2 works better in a larger variety of mechs. The dual ground pins (usually) insure good contact.
With the old Kick 1 and the clones, if the unit is not a tight fit, you have to shim it to press the single ground pin firmly against the side of the tube. I do this by fitting two or three layers of shrink tubing over them.
Extra work... that you don't need to do with a Kick 2, but, for the money, perhaps worth the effort.

The only regulator I've not tried is the Crown... and I'll get one soon, mostly because they can be adjusted with sound, and they are half as long as the competition at only about 8mm vs. 15mm.

YMMV.

I've been playing with both, and the only substantial difference aside from the Smok able to go 2 watts higher is that the Sigelei seems to be able to run at lower Ω. The Smok doesn't seem to want to run under 1.2Ω, but the Sigelei runs 1.0Ω coils (it MAY go lower, but I use microcoils and don't tend to make anything less than that). I got 3 Sigelei and 2 Smok, just because I found them at great deals and wanted some backups, now I find I pretty much have no use for more than 1 of each. I tend to run both somewhere between 8 and 10 watts, so those extra 2 watts the Smok have doesn't mean much to me.

I've just recently ordered a Smok kick. I have a question for when it arrives: How will I know whether it is working properly?

(Keep in mind that I am utterly new to mods. )
These power regulation microprocessors (typically) use pulse width modulation (PWM)... usually at 33.3 hz. So, you hear a "rattlesnake sound" when you hit the button. It is quite noticeable vs. no regulation.

If you get nothing at all... check to make sure you have a good ground at the side pin. If you have to shim the device "over"... use something non-conductive, like plastic or rubber. I think I mentioned I use shrink tubing for all mine, but I've heard of some using pieces of carto condom.

I've heard about this sound. So I should get this right away, from the get go? (Just making sure!)

I've also heard about this issue, and appreciate your bringing it up here! :)

Yeah... with some factory built attys, like carto tanks and some clearos you'll probably hear it really clearly. With RBAs, RDAs, genesis and such - not necessarily.

Quick test. I've stuck two identical IBT 22mm tanks with Ikenvape 2.0Ω cartos (with similar juices) on two mechs, both with fresh 18500s. One with a Smok Kick, the other with nothing. The one with sizzles at a fairly level consistency, the one without is inconsistent with the more frequent pop. The one with the Kick (all at 8w) sounds just like a third IBT tank on a iTaste 3.0 or SVD or MVP2.

Certainly not scientific or conclusive by any stretch... but if you listen to them long enough, you can tell right away.

Oh... and you can kick out more power with a Kick... at the cost of shorter battery run time.

the real kick is also DC to DC no PWM
it will go down to .5 ohms and also has mod resistance compensation.

the crown 2 is very cool can switch between VV and VW

no doubt the copies will work fine but they are no where near the same thing as the real kick 2
