today is the release day ?
gotta find a place that has the new release here in the U.S.
this will be my first mechanical, I am a tinkerer by heart, will probably get an rsst to build coils onto also. That will be my first forray into coil building. only vaping a month and it's the hobby like atmosphere about the mods that's contributing to keeping me off the cigs.:toast:

Bought this as my first mod. Hasn't seen much use because I want to use it regulated and haven't gotten a kick yet. It works with my protank II, which I believe is the only clearo I put on it. The resistance is relatively high with the included heads with the protank, but the performance was pretty good with my smoktech cartos, which I believe are 1.7 ohm. I bought an rsst as my first rebuildable specifically to go with this, but i haven't built it yet. Still looking around and doing research on what combo wick/coil I want.

Anyways, I'm looking to see if anybody has info on a spare cap for it. Like I said, my protank works, and the RSST reportedly works*, so this may not end up being an issue, but I want to at least know where to get one in case this becomes an issue with some other set up I get in the future. When searching this, the best I could find were ego threaded top caps, which I believe had adjustable pins. Is this the only option at this point? If so, I guess that's not so bad as far as looks goes, as I imagine that once you screw on a device it'll hide it quite nicely, but I'd still prefer if it were simply an upgraded version of the original topcap.

edit: others mentioned triangle vapes earlier in this thread. It appears they do carry it, but as of right now they're out of stock. Like I said, it doesn't really affect me at this time, but good to know it's out there.... I do note though that the description simply says "adjustable top cap" and the pictures simply look like they're originally intended for the mod not specifically for the replacement part. It may be possible that this replacement cap is the ego threaded one I was hoping to avoid. If I were getting this today, I'd definitely email them to confirm first. here's a link: http://trianglevape.com/magneto-adjustable-top-cap/

I've been using the Magneto for almost 2 months now and it's performed flawlessly. I do keep it mostly for my genesis tanks (AGT's) but I just got a Diver Tank and that works very well with it. Personally I'm using it mostly in the 18350 mode so things stay compact. Has anyone gotten the version with the floating pin and ego well? I see that Avidvaper has the caps now but not sure if I want to spend $15 on it. Thoughts? 0924131552.jpg

If you're having problems with certain attys not firing or need the ego threads, it's worth it.

Madvapes has the cap for $11.

Not sure about shipping to Australia but madvapes has this one...

I understand the need for the adjustable or floating center pin, but why the ego threading? I can't think of a single ego tank that would work very well on a mechanical. I suppose you would need to rebuild the coil to a lower ohm rating or throw a kick on it.

Personally, I own now 6 of the Magoo-c tanks and they have a spring loaded center pin, so they work perfectly on the Magneto. I've gone through way to many types of tanks until I found these. To me, their absolutely the perfect solution for my vaping needs and they work with every mod I currently own.

Where can I found a Magoo-c tank?

I got them from two places...

Eciggity!

They have both the S and C, only difference is the S is polished SS and the C is polished gold color.

and...

Magoo-C RBA from iSmoka

They only carry the SS one and their currently out of stock.

Getting my first Magoo ss paired with the Magneto. I'm getting different stories on the wire to use. Not familiar with the original (ithaka), therefore, should I be using the pre-made no resistance lead wire?Or can I use regular kanthal for the build?

Also, is it a good idea to purchase a spare ceramic replacement cup?

Thanks for the help, looking forward to both products.

Unless you plan on modifying it, you must use non resistance - resistance - non resistance wire on these. You should never use just kanthal on them, give you to high an ohm and might fry parts. You can get pre made wires if you wish, but look on you tube on building an Ithaka. Very easy to make your own and exactly the same.

Would be a good idea to maybe get a spare ceramic, but only if you think you'll bust one. I have six of these tanks and haven't broken one yet.

Btw, if you have any more questions, feel free to PM me so as not to clutter this thread with non topic posts and I'll be happy to help!

I think I'm in the same boat. Magneto just won't fire anything anymore. One minute it was working just fine, the next, nothing. I took out the center pin and seems like there's a spring or something inside the white delrin that has been borked somehow. This sucks. I only had the d@mn thing for two days!
Grrrrr....

I think I'm going to get the cap because a couple of my drippers don't quite make contact. They did at first, but it seems one of my longer 510 connections shoved the pin down slightly and I can't get it to come back up.

Pre ordered a Russian. Was a big struggle deciding between the russian and the magoo but I went with the Russian in the end. Both clones. Magoo was cheaper...but I'm not experienced enough for soldering non res legs. Or too lazy.. Can't wait for the russian!!!! sure I'll be after the magoo next time my vape habits throw a chunk at my vape budget.

I meant to get back to you about this. Sorry it's taken me so long.

I did as you suggested; the brass ring was tight as a tick, but I wound it out anyway, put a little Noalox on the threads, and tightened it back down. Now, my problem is that it DOES fire, but REALLY weak. Like something isn't making proper contact. Most of my attys bottom out on the 510 connection; they just stop, there's none of that slight resistance you want to feel when attaching something. So I'm thinking I need to RAISE the firing pin in the Magneto.

I should add that I've adjusted the center pin on some of my attys, trying to get better contact this way. I can get the pin on my Ithaka clone, pretty far out, and it has to be almost (I'm guessing here) 2mm beyond the 510 post to make any contact at all. So something must be wrong with the Magneto. I guess. I'm kind of at a loss....

But thanks much for your help!

My magneto stopped firing. Take the bottom half of the switch off. Look on the inside of it. Wind out the brass contact. It somehow wound itself down and wasn't making contact...
Try that. It worked for me.

Go to the hardware store and get a brass screw of a similar diameter to the pin.very mildly heat the screw, and screw it into the delerin. This should rethread the delerin, just take your time with it. after the threads are set, cut the screw down to the height you want it at, and sand the end down. You will still have the adjustability, just not the floating action. No more little springs to damage. Or if that's too much, just buy a new top cap for $10 or so.

Note, check your button assembly first, your contact can come unscrewed after using the lock frequently.
