This is my first mech mod. When i first got this mod, I use to run it with 18350 battery with no problems and a tight fit. I changed battery and all of a sudden its all loose. I tighten as far as I can and when i shake it and it is loose. I run a 18490 and 18650 just fine but the battery on the 18350 is loose and provides a inconsistent fire.

Some flat top 18350s do that (my efests don't though). All I can really say is get some AW IMR 18350s (button tops) and that should take care of it (my Magneto doesn't rattle or feel loose with the AW IMRs). Not sure why mine isn't loose with the efest flat tops, though. Seems like a lot of people have trouble with that.

ya think maybe it's your spring tension...?

18350 - 18490 - 18650 the 350 is the shortest and maybe the other longer ones collapsed your spring
making it weaker and no longer hold snug...

just a thought

EDIT: HaHa I don't have and not familiar with the Magneto just guessed the spring BUT it doesn't have
any springs... it's a magnet opposed switch, so not sure, maybe something with the adjustable screw tube...

I'm having the exact same problem with my Magneto (original logo version). I've been running 18350's in it for about 90% of the last 3 to 4 weeks and using an 18500 occasionally. Suddenly tonight my 18350's won't fire (18500 is fine). When I take the head off I can plainly see that my 18350 battery is sitting lower than usual, with the telescoping tube fully tightened down. The only apparent cause I can see is the spring under the battery contact (negative?) having lost its strength/recoil.

Anyone know of a solution that doesn't involve a full replacement? I can use it with an 18500 and probably with a kick on my 18350, but I prefer the size and weight of a single 18350 with no kick.

I have the original magneto as well, and while I've never had this problem, mainly because I only run 18650s, I think you made need to take the device apart. The bottom switch threads off. From there, on both the body and the switch, you'll see a brass ring with the magnets inside. The ring should have little notches for let's say a screw driver:) careful though, the connection is magnetic, gets a bit tricky. From there you should be able to work everything out of the body and switch. Reassemble and I believe your problem should be fixed. Something may have just come loose. Hope that helps

The tension springs can be stretched to a longer length. Just grab a hold of the spring with two hands and give a pull.

Take note that the spring is not black, or darker in color than it once was. If it is a collapsable "hot spring", they collapse when there is a battery fault or hard short as a safety feature.

For added safety, especially in a mechanical mod that doesn't have safety features against hard shorts, a Vape Safe Fuse is recommended.

SMOKTECH Magneto Means Magnets
The Magneto mech-mod is the first I’ve used that uses a magnetic switch. The inclusion of a magnetic switch instead of the usual spring means the action is smoother, cleaner, without the worry of wearing out the spring action or breaking it completely. Some call it revolutionary, I call it smart engineering. The Magneto is going to outlive every other mod you have. And the “throw” of the switch is damn near perfect
...................................................
This revolutionary mod uses a magnetic switch. This means of instead of using a spring the Magneto uses magnets. Inside the switch there are 2 magnets, with the poles facing each other. This creates resistance to emulate a spring, but without a spring to wear out, so the mod will last longer

taint naw springs to stretch, why I felt kind dumb in my fist post
