LOL.. I wasn't wanting to replace my tank with a piece off a syringe, just using that as an example of how I've had juice tainted with the material it comes in contact with. The tank is soaking in Dawn right now.. I'll give it an alcohol dip and wash it agian.

Some soaps have chemicals added like perfumes which the tank will absorb,be careful.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but has anyone heard about trying out a brass screw in these? I have heard that some are trying to get brass screws to help out with voltage drop. Anyone tried it and noticed a difference?

You dont need anymore V drop, how low you want too go?

The insulator and 'ring' can be pushed out *from the bottom* of the deck. Don't try to push it from the top. It has a little 'lip' that won't permit it to come out that way. Find something the same diameter of the ring and insulator (I used the back of a drill bit) and push both out. Takes a bit of effort but leaves a huge wick hole. You can easily press the insulator and ring back in from the top if you decide to replace them.

Whats the insulator made from, rubber or silicon?

Will do. I'll give that a shot first and see what happens. I have a feeling I'll be making a whole new wick/coil. Part of my problem is that I was cutting the mesh with a pair of heavy duty shears first. Totally forgot about my wire cutters. D'oh!

That is 28 guage kanthal. Am I also correct in thinking that I need to decrease the wraps by at least one? If I'm going for a .8-1Ohm coil?

use sharp sissors,not wire cutters.

I am not sure if anyone has had this happen but feeling it out to see if so... I have a Smok Natural mod and got the RSST over the weekend. I cannot for the life of me get the RSST to thread down onto the Natural - about a 1/4 turn in it seizes up almost like it is cross threaded. I backed the telescopic center pin on the Natural down thinking maybe that was it (even though I knew it wasn't...), no go.

I moved the RSST to a ProVari - threads fine. I moved the RSST to a plain ole eGo battery - threads fine. My Nimbus v3 on the Natural - Threads fine. A plain ole Carto in a Carto Tank on the Natural - Threads fine.

Just so confused @___@

Some RSST`s have threading issues, you may have too retap the threads with a 7mm x .5 die,i had the same problem,i just worked the tank into my Mod,it wasnt easy, but it worked ok with stripping any threading

My RSST came with extra parts, think ill use the extra washer and spring on the AGA,the tank on the RSST wont last forever.

FYI the washer that comes with the RSST is steel, probably zinc plated. It may rust eventually & some have reported that. I replaced them with 316 washers on mine.

Might as well add in this thread too....

I shortened the insulator 25 thou & installed a 2.5 x 1 mm oring under. No more leaking.

I'm about to give up. I can't get that much vapor. The flavor isn't really there. It's a little harsh especially blowing out my nose. I've dont like 5 different wicks and coils. No hotspots all glowing evenly. No spaces. I've tried thicker wicks. Skinnier wicks. Either it doesn't wick after a few puffs or it wicks too much and is super harsh. This is so hard. Btw I always wrap to 1.0 ohms. Please any suggestions?

I had the same problem but I was determined to get it better. My biggest issue was heatsinking from the mesh & wicking sucked, was better when I dropped down to 300. I gave up on the SS mesh & went with a straight Ekowool wick. Now I have a thin SS wick inside Ekowool, no heatsinking issue, & it vapes fine now consistently. I'm done messing with gennies, maybe others are better but I have fullfilled my curiosity. Back to my normal program.

It maybe your juice, what you using and did you try different brands?,do you have the air hole drilled bigger? It also takes time too break in a new set up.

Anyone else have a leaking issue where, after using your RSST for a bit, then setting it down vertically, all the condensation from the top cap leaks out the air hole and down to your device?

I usually vape it for a while, then leave it upright on my mod, only to come back and find drops of juice all over the place.....

Are you sure it's leaking out of the air hole in the top cap? You could have juice running down your centre post and gathering in the bottom cap. Have you taken apart the RSST to confirm? Seems excessive to have so much coming down through the air hole.

Definitely from the air hole, maybe i exaggerated the amount, but its quite a few drops leaking out. Theres always some left right under the air hole so thats what tells me its from there and not the bottom. As far as the center shaft goes, I replaced the grommet there with one from an old Kanger T3 head, fits snug, and closes any gaps when i press the center pin into it.

Does anybody have any pictures or tips with running ekowool in their rsst??

I haven't taken any pics but I use Ekowool in mine. I first used 3mm, worked better than full SS for me as far as wicking. Tricky to coil it while in the RSST but you can also wrap the coil first before installing. Torching the Ekowool will make it stiffer & a bit easier to work with. Right now I'm using a thin solid SS 300 wick covered with 2mm Ekowool, again working better than my previous setups on it. I'll probably rebuild soon & will take some pics then.
