where are the black chrome ones coming from? they are out of stock at my site. I think the black chrome would go good next to my slate anodized bolt. i bet it would.. I think I'm going to order a stainless steel one tonight if I cant find a black chrome. SS is durable. Does anyone know what the chrome TSM's are made of? I feel like I've read that they are made of brass?

It's my understanding they are made of brass, too.

The only place I know of for black chrome is at Liberty Flights Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Telescope Remember about the 20% thing when you click on the link at the upper left of the webpage!
madvapes has something called "gun metal" for the telescope, too. The Vented Telescope Adjustable Tube Mod, Gun Metal

Just ordered one to back up my provari. Super excited, but am still really limited in my knowledge. This was sort of an impulse buy..... and I have 0 guilt! Hopefully I can kick it some time soon as well! Cant' wait to go out with it and beat it up a bit. The provari is way to pretty to put it in harms way and this is just perfect!

All kidding aside, when are people going to stop buying this Smoktech junk! Paying more for quality doesn't COST more. Higher quality products LAST longer, WORK better and are SAFER! Wake up America!!!
Smoktech is laughing all the way to the bank!

As soon as Provape gives me a six months same as cash deal :)

Haha thats funny, I think the same thing except opposite to that. I think the telescope mod is gorgeous and the provari is ugly lol. The provari looks like a flashlight. The telescoping mod looks gorgeous. I just ordered the stainless steel one, i'm really excited. Its actually made of stainless steel through and through. How is that bad quality? This entire thread is full of positive experiences and positive reviews. Many of us buy all of our eGos and mods from smoktech and I for one and perfectly happy with the quality... It works and it works well so far. Smoktech cartos are some of the best around. smoktech eGos are well built, hardy, and they hit like a beast. This telescoping mod looks great and I can't wait to call it mine. Its a mechanical mod.. You can't break this thing. And the stainless steel one may cost extra but I firmly believe its worth it. Totally worth it. I've heard the SS version feels like a brick in your hand.

Well I dont know if I would call them bullet proof. Mine lasted a couple weeks. I did enjoy it when it worked thought. Will be buying a SS version as soon as I get my store credit.

One thing I would say is that ST does make good product. I just cant keep from pushing things to the limit. My V2 provari was a paper weight after a day or two. But it has a 14 watt limit if I recall. So my telescope had a hard time with 38 amps. Cant fault the PV for that.
Also if I had a choice between a ProV and a Gripper I would get the ProV sell it and buy 4 Grippers. Much better PV for the power production, no error codes and so much cheaper.

striker I remember you. how have you been buddy? as for smoktech mods and the TSM (telescoping mod), I have seen and read a lot of great reviews concerning the stainless steel version and I fully support smoktech so far. I am a little biased to china made mods, because they are a lot easier on my wallet considering I'm a young 21 year old without a job... But I have to say, I can appreciate why a lot of people here say to stay away from china made and save up and buy american. I have my reasons for buying less expensive products and in my personal experience, they give you your money's worth... and the added satisfaction of instant gratification. I'm against provari still, because they advertize as a water vapor e-cigarette mod. (its PG and VG, not water vapor) and I stand by that. Likewise, I'm not going to buy a darwin because smoktech has a variwattage device for 120 dollars, not $400 like the darwin. Not to forget, the smoktech zmax is gorgeous, and the darwin is a tire pressure gauge with e-cig insides lol. anyway, I have my reasons... And I firmly believe that some smoktech devices are just a smarter buy than other more expensive devices. Sure, sometimes you can get a doa dud, but usually the retailer will help you with that instantaneously...

I will certainly be reviewing the tsm as soon as I can and I will let everyone know if I think its a tank or a ford pinto. :p I just hope it doesn't erupt in flames before I have a chance to review it. lol.

Hey Plumes. Been good. How about you?
I agree with everything you said. I think the tele is a good PV and being my first mechanical I had a "What I was missing" moment till I stacked batteries in it.

What got me about the Darwin is that its never available when I have funds to get one. Then the idea of the battery being built in and the arm was just to many negs before I could ever try one. Still have yet to try one but I would if I had the chance.

I think for the ProV it was love at first vape back in its time but once I got on to Genesis attys it was a major disappointment. Just like everything. It all has its place per someones style. I like mindbogglingly thick clouds of vapor. Just could not get it with the ProV. My carto tanks loved it but then again many cheaper PVs can do the same thing without skipping the settings I am trying to find.

I am done hunting for my perfect PV, after a year long search. I've found 3 versions (types) of PVs that work perfectly for me and my preferences and needs. One of them is the Smoktech Telescope Mod. As far as I'm concerned...it's beautiful, extremely functional, efficient, solid and JUST right for me!

what are your other 2 favorites, i appologise if I've forgotten them after having seen them?

I like the Joyetech eGo T Mod. Dual power settings, 18650 batteries, can be charged with USB charger or on a regular charger. Replaceable power head and tube. Lockable.

Also like the Madvapes 3.7 Gripper (not the vv one). Reliable, great vape and excellent for stealth. With the extender piece you can use any tank, clearo, cartomizer, atomizer etc. you want. Without the tube it uses the XL cartomizers.

And of course the Smok Telescope...can use assorted size batteries and types, it's all mechanical, sturdy and reliable....and beautiful!

Maybe not the fanciest stuff around...but I'm impressed by the performance and reliability of these being available at a price point that is reasonable for a person in my position on a fixed income. I have VV devices...LT, Twist and kGo VV....I rarely use them because I have found the wattage I prefer to vape, and the delivery system I prefer. I don't really need VV, and, in my mind...the less bells and whistles the less to break or go wrong! The Provaris and Darwins etc. are great devices for those who need or want that sort of thing, but for the price, it's not really something that I would find suited to my needs or budget. Variable voltage just isn't a necessity for me since I have just one juice that I use (I DIY), and know what wattage I like to vape. If I want to up the ante with something stronger...I have the smaller VV devices and the LT. But mostly, in that case I just use a lower ohm delivery systems.

I'm right there with you, I don't use vv devices anymore either. I only use them to check the ohm of my cartos and i'm hoping to get my 1st rebuildable soon so the vv will come in handy for checking the ohm of my hand rolled coils. but i'm mainly a 3.7 vaporer at 1.5 to 1.7 ohms, I like my 1 hole carto tanks with 20/80 PG/VG ratio. savory tobacco based without bitterness, yknow, the RY4's, caramel, nutty, savory bakeries, & sweet n sour juices in that order. I'm finally settling into my vaping habits, 3rd times the charm. :) this is definitely a hobby for me and I do plan to collect devices.. But not expensive ones. I'm going to collect what I can afford, and quite recently I've decided against planning out future purchases. I will buy whats in my budget and what tickles my fancy, mainly fixed volt mech mods. I want to always have at least 900mAh egos in my collection at all times though. I love an eGo in my hand walking around a store getting wild eyes from smokers that have no idea what i'm doing as I blow vapor out walking by them lol :) love it. The smoktech telescoping mod is gorgeous in all of its finishes. I really like the way the chrome lambo and young june looks as well and I think I'll be ordering one soon. I love the Zmax but its a bit out of my price range at the moment. I want a GG or something similar to it, with chrome or stainless tube and brass caps, I'm soooo attracted to that theme. My family already takes an interest to my big ugly black lavatube and my brother laughed at my Bolt for being so "big" the other day. I think my aunt conni who has been using a 510 set for a year now would especially appreciate a GG. She was really perplexed by my black lavatube the last time I saw her. Someday I'll have a nice shiny GG or something similar but not anytime soon lol.

So I recieved my telescope this weekend and its been a blast. A lot of fun and went out with it with 0 fears of dropping. I found the hit a bit less than desirable due to my current setup (standard boge 3.0 tank) and am really looking forward to kick'ing this device. Will I have to sand the inside of the telescope having the chrome model? I know it was discussed earlier as well, but can I get an estimate for kick + 18350 vape time, I really do prefer the smaller size! Sorry for the all the questions!

Hi all. Got some questions I need your help with. I know there is no definitive yes or no answer to tube mod safety but Im just a bit concerned about using the Telescope (or my other mech mod for that matter). Im used to using the Lambo with the supplied batteries which are NCM 18650 1800mah. I dont see a lot of info on these to start with but knowing that the Lambo has many safeties in it Im ok.

I did buy some blue 18350 IMRs for the tele and my issue is that I have the Trustfire tr001 charger that some vendors and threads show it can charge them but others say no and the charger itself doesn't have them specified either. Are any of you using these with the charger?

And last question, does anyone use any extra safeties with the telescope or am I just being a bit too paranoid?

Thanks for reading

I'm satisfied with using IMR li-mn or protected li-ion batteries. There are vent holes...in the unlikely event of something going wrong, at least the tube shouldn't blow up with shards of metal slicing of your tongue or anything weird like that. Anyway...you can feel if the battery is getting hot. That's a clue something might not be quite right in there. Warm is one thing. Hot is another.

I am not that concerned. I'm also not cavalier...but if you are using the correct batteries, not stacking (or at least not stacking incorrectly. Personally I would NOT stack) and are tolerably aware of the temperature of the thing in your hand...things should be fine. When I'm charging I don't leave the batteries unattended (like overnight), I use a safe charging bag (but don't charge batteries back to back one after the other in one...let the thing cool down in there! I also don't seal it up tight. I leave a little gap.) and I periodically check and see if the wire, wall wort, battery or charger feel a bit warmer than seems normal. The incidence of something catastrophic happening isn't but a teensy fraction of a percent. It just pays to be aware and safety conscious, but no need to be obsessive.

As for the charger...I'm sorry but I have two different chargers...one for my 18650 types and another one for the 18350s that was a gift from a friend. I honestly don't know about the Trustfire TR001 kind. I've looked at them though. Hope someone else can answer!

I got my telescope in a bit over a week ago and I've been loving, minus a few issues. It's my first mechanical, and I just ordered an 18650 Cube and Uranos mod to join it. I had a few misfires in the beginning, but it seems to have worked itself out, as I haven't had a misfire in a few days. This thing is awesome, and I think I may be officially converted to mechanicals!
