I did a 7/6 coil wrap, and the same results! I've been vaping HV for over a year now. This Vmax doesn't even vape good with the duals Smoktech sells! Failure IMO!!

Best vape I ever had is with a 2.0-3.0 ohm dual coil in the Phoenix RA on the VMax. No issues at all.

This^^^^^^^^^^^ LR is for 3.7 volt devices.

Well, there is a point.

The problem there is that the Vmax is supposed to be a 3.7v device. And a 3.0v device... and a 4.0, a 4.8, a 5.2, etc. But, it's not.

I'm really enjoying the physical character of the Max; shape, button feel, weight, the display, the menu, the build, all good! :) Its reliability, unknown, but developing a bad reputation.

But its ability to regulate voltage: major fail. :( I couldn't recommend until they modify the electronics.

Here is my 2 cents on LR-HR and in between
If you want say 14 watts you have two ways to achieve it , either raise the voltage or lower the resistance or both.
But in the end isn't 14 watts 14watt?
14 watts is a lot isn't it?

I believe so, and I have no interest in going to 14 watts personally.

But with vertical genesis set ups things don't seem to obey the law. I have some ideas as to why this is so, but I get better flavor and vapor, even controlling for watts, with a 3/2 and 2/1 set up on my DID and Zen respectively.

Depends :)
14W on PV coils is a lot!
14W on boiler heater is ... nothing :)
at the end 14W is 14W, isn't it ?

I dont think 14 watts is 14 watts is 14 Watts is all the same,,, when you are using a different ohm coil, when I use my Darwin and say I vape at 8.7W and have a LR coil running,,,, the vape is not the exact same @ 8.7W with a SR coil running, there is a difference to me, and when you get into a HV Coil set up at 8.7W it's even more different then the LR @ 8.7w Taste, its all in the Taste, for me the hotter coil nets me the best flavor, that's just me, others could agree or disagree

Got me there...I guess I'm just one of the few that like to take advantage of 5-6 volts. I feel like I'm defeating the purpose of my PV that can go to 6 volts if I vape at anything lower than 4. Plus when I use higher ohms I get longer battery life. Sounds like a win/win.

All the Provari die-hards are giving the VMax a bad rep. I have 2 VMaxes (V1 & V2/R4) that works flawless, with the V1 having proven some decent longevity and hear of many others that have flawless units as well that surely outweighs the number who have received faulty units.

I don't see any problem with the voltage regulation...stays the same untill the batts get down to their last couple of puffs for me.

Exactly what I mean with coil and boiler - the equal power sometime it's sweet point, sometime cant do even a smell of vapor.
