J, you may or may not be aware I've been somewhat vocal on this very subject in some of my early posts on other threads. Most of this stuff is overpriced because of the 'tobacco costs' mentality. Most vendors figure as ex smokers we're used to paying high costs for our TH. The bottom line is most vendors charge what we're willing to pay, irrespective of the high and in many cases outrageous markup. It's exactly like you say....because they can.

Everything I got from gotvapes has been spot on...the prices are a bit higher than some other vendors for sure. They have that new alpha program where you can get stuff really cheap though if they will let you join it. I have heard horror stories from some people that got stuff from them though...dunno. The mini and standard Vivi I got from em was in the box with 3 heads and vaped like a champ...haven't touched them since I got the Phoenix RA though. I don't think they are selling knock offs though because I have heard them say to watch out for other vendors selling the knock offs and stated you are getting genuine stuff from them. Any vendor can claim anything though it seems like.

I'm in that alpha program. The prices are low for the alpha products because they're all garbage.

Double check your memory... The bigger VN comes in the boxed set, but the Mini comes unboxed with just one head from GotVapes.

GV is definitely not selling knock-offs of anything from Vision. Chris (Badkolo) from GotVapes worked on the development of the Vivi Nova and the Stardust, and was even given credit for it on the Vision website.

They are tight with Vision, GreenSound, as well as others, and now SmokTech. It's genuine stuff from them.

Disclosure stuffs: I work on GotVapes contests, and as a result am friends with Badkolo.

But, for what it's worth, I don't use their products for the most part. I have never cared for top-coils, even the VNs, which are apparently the best TCs to date. GotVapes focus has always been the top-coil stuff. I'm a fillered carto user (Boge and ST) in a DCT. I'm kinda enjoying the BC Phoenix XL 1.6ml, but haven't tried the 3ml Phoenix. I am really looking forward to trying the Phoenix Raven. ;)

I'm looking forward to the raven as well. Overall my experience with Gotvapes has been pretty decent with the exception of them sending me short wick Vivi Nova heads one time even though I ordered long wick with a note that said "sorry ran out of long wicks". This should have been brought to my attention before they charged me and shipped the order. If I wanted the short wicks, I would have ordered short wicks...

Yeah I hate when vendors send you something in place of your order because they ran out...HoosierVapes did that to me and sent me something totaly opposite of what I ordered because it was out of stock I will never buy from them again. Vendors need to tell you these things before sending out your order so you can either get a refund or change the order yourself.

Got a SS blue LED eGo top cap VMax today and so far it's flawless. Threads are better than the V1 along with a better button and I can't really tell any difference in the vape at any voltage compared to the V1...hit's like a champ. The eGo top cap isn't as bad as I thought...it's actually nice looking in person. Really diggin the blue screen and SS finish. Overall a nice step up from the V1 IMO.

I'm picking up a v4 soon, I was hoping the PM was tuned a little better so I can enjoy lower voltages. I'm kind of stuck between 3.0 - 3.4 currently on my VN 2.5 at the moment. Is this not the case?

EDIT: I'm currently using a V1 btw.

That's where I'm stuck as well but with the new v4. Same setup.

3-4.5 volts is tuned down a bit from the V1. 5-6 volts is pretty much the same. Might want to try some higher ohm coils if possible. 3.0-3.5 ohms is what you need to get the most out of the VMax.

So I just rebuilt the coil on my Phoenix....... Optimo, you were right.....it only got 100% better with unbelievable flavor like I've never tasted in 2+ years of vaping and the vapor ...... it's too much vapor. It's so thick and so much it literally chokes me. All I can say is I'm getting 10 more of these. It might be what they consider a drippin' atty but being it holds around 15-20 drops it's no different than me using a standard carto and toppin' off every 10 draws or so. Same thing. But 10x's the flavor...and suprisingly CLEAN FLAVOR...and 10x's the vapor. This little thing has thoroughly impressed me in a way I never in a million years thought it would.

That's funny Turtle. I'll go to GV but COV......NEVER again. I'll get em in the co-op for $5ea. Or carolina vapes for $19.99ea.....I think.

These little things really are somethin' Awesome.

$14.20 after discount @ GV

co-op sounds good for something like this where after-sales support isn't necessary. I'd never do a co-op for something like a Vmax.

Mind if I ask what kind of materials you used? I have the "knockoff" Phoenix rba's and should be receiving my kanthal wire and silica wick tomm... Any pics of a completed coil? I know theres video and etc out there, but everyone is different and different stuff works for different people ( could I of used the word different a few more times?? Lol )

Or just get a carto tank...

I can run the vmax at 6 volts all day long without getting even a hint of burned taste on my carto tanks.

With a vivi nova and similar stuff, I can't go much higher than 4 volt, before I start getting the occasional burned hit. (even on the higher ohm coils)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this. Now I know for sure I have fount my perfect setup and the searching is over lol. You can take it even further...If you put a dual coil setup in it, it doubles the TH/flavor/vapor.

So I use my GTUS, Z Atty P and DID on a daily basis (+ the Penelope that's all I use lately)

The units that run on SS mesh (first three) will be running PERFECTLY on my provari, no shorts, stable ohms, ohms with and without the wick are identical, etc

Screw one on to the Vmax, and "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" high pitched whining sound. Take the top cap off, and behold, I have a short (hot spots at the top and bottom run off the wick).

Keep hiting the button, straight up F2 or F1.

Return to the Provari, issue vanishes.

In essence, if not literally, the Vmax 'creates' shorts on my RBAs

Perhaps the 8.4V spikes create a situation where the current is so high (albeit instantaneously) that instead of taking the path of 'least resistance' through the coil (vs. the hopefully 'infinite' resistance of the outer oxidized layer of the mesh) it actually flows through everything ---> short? Not an electrical man, so please, bear with me lol
