From what I can tell they ARE polished Stainless Steel NOT chrome dipped Steel. The buttons are a "frosted clear" acrylic button that really shows off the blue led. The dimpled/dotted top and bottom cap are factual and look GREAT. Other than that everything is the same, I think I've covered everything that was asked in previous posts, if not just ask and I'll do my to get the information to you. .....I'll post some pics later tonight. Take care everyone ......J

Looking forward to the photos!
Did you try a magnet on the body and end caps to see if they're magnetic? That would be a good way to confirm if it's truly stainless or not...

Im doing a bunch a discharge tests on the E'fest side by side to the AW 18350 at 2,3,4,5,& 10 AMPS. I did a quick side by side at 2 amps and the E'fest is dead even. The only thing that will show they are head to head is 5 amps and up. As far as performance, 1st impression, dead even and exact same, they did not do ANY changes to the chipset in the VMAX SS. And the person spreading it around saying the SS has a blue display......stop getting peoples hopes up and DO NOT post if your information has even a shed of doubt. Thats more than half the problem with ecf and newbs getting the wrong information....more times than not it comes from someone so bored they just start posting wrong information for the mere fact of talking out of their A55. Sorry folks , it had to be said. Only thing as far as the bottom cap goes, needs noalox, but most SS threads do. But the threads are great on my unit. The E'fest batteries are the BEST fitment I've found so far out of the 18 different batteries I've tested and tried. They measure 43.17 on the micrometer. Nipple top Efest are on the way to the U.S. as we speak or type. Soon to be at a popular vendor. I don't think we'll have to worry or even ask from here out about any chipset modifications to the VMAX, the latest version after testing shows the most stability, and consistency out of all that have past thru my hands and been hooked up to the LeCroy 312-A Oscilloscope. Basically all Smoktech did was instead of letting the carto/atty see the max battery voltage for those miliseconds while firing, they dropped and regulated the maximum voltage it sees now to 1.78 volts less. So before, if the batteries were at 8.2 volts, when you pushed the fire button, in those miliseconds it would top out at 8.2v dropping down to 3.8v.....now same senerio, new PWM setting, it tops out at 6.42V, may seem like a lot but all in all it is much better , more stable, more consistent, but with that same feeling of .....WOW this thing is different than ANY other device I've ever used or have. This was a rushed explanation, sorry if some of you are lost or didn't quite understand what I was trying to explain. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I'll be done with the battery side by side and post my findings. Take care everyone. ......J
Hmm wonder if this is the cause of fuzz popping his coils on the rebuildables, I bought some 34awg kanthal and nichrome to make some higher ohm coils on the did when it arrives but I think I'll use it on the new vmax instead. Still waiting on those pics j.

Nice to see you have a great sence of humor neeceann, just a little jab there lol:D

This has in fact been bantered about as a possible theory...the high PWM peaks on the 'hotter' vmaxes contributing to popped coils on rebuildables. Gives me an even more logical reason to buy a 2nd vmax I think :D

On the other hand, I've had no problem running a 1.4ohm 306 atty on my vmax at an indicated 3.8v. In contrast, I popped coils measuring out 2.0ohm at 3v with the rebuildable, so ....I just dunno. Just be certain when you build them, to oxidize the wick more than you think is necessary and do not allow the wick to touch the bottom of your tank. Personally I think the latter is the culprit. In one experiment I took out the wick completely from the DID, leaving just the coil connected...it glowed red for quite a while and never popped; once the wick was replaced...it popped. It therefore certainly seems to me it's a problem with the wick configuration.

Ok brothers here is where I am now.....lol :)

Yes I have the non nipple efest batteries from Carolina vapes.
No I have no magnets, I did have some, but u know us women, I "stuck them someplace where I could find them" and well, I can't.

I have not had any more trouble with my max not coming on, the threads on the cap seem to have loosened up a bit and if my batteries don't go in one way, I switch them and put the other one in and it comes on.

Now then my flippin battery charger is giving me fits. I have a trust fire charger, four channel, bay, whatever, and it keeps trying to overcharge the damn things. 4.24, 4.25. So my next purchase needs to be a charger? Oiy!!! I already have a set of 18350 trust fire flames I can't use, and now it looks like I need another charger.

Now then my new problem, and I have been lookin at this thread. Cartos...what are these fusions u all keep talking about? Never heard of or had them. Before my max I used the Smoktech xl mega LR dc 1.8 or 2.0 om at about 4.2 to 5v. I like a thick warm almost hot vape, and I demand liquids that can handle that. (Altcig all day for me!!)

I am no dripper even tho I have all the gear, empire drip shield, dca, 306, all that mess, but I always end up using my ol drip atty to test my liquids, then back to the cartos I go.

I see y'all talking bout punching ur cartos for ur tanks, and I am no good at that either. I have a lava tank, and evolution tank, smok tech dcts, no satisfaction there either. Can't punch, can't fill without leaking, or getting the dreaded dry hit. So.....back to the cartos I go.

At this point I am almost waiting for someone to show up at my door and slap me in the face and tell me to turn my vmax over till I can get my .... together, lol.

Who has a carto idea for me?

Now to make a decision. Chrome or SS.
I would really like to see some detailed pics of either if someone wouldn't mind... Although I do like the Look of the top and bottom a bit more on the ss. But the shininess of the chrome gets my attention as well.

The last thing is that I have dropped my provari a few times and I don't think chrome would take kindly to that.. And if I read j's post correctly earlier, the SS is a bit lighter.

801 FUSIONS would easily solve a lot of your headaches, not to mention give you some of the best flavor you may have had yet.

Hey partner, did you get the SS Vmax from CCV ? Also everyone who I Recommended that charger to has reported back that it charges their IMR's perfect everytime to 4.21V, you should be very happy with it, if you have any questions about the selectable switch features on the sides of it when you get it just PM me and I'll fill you in and help you. Also after you have your VMAX you can check the voltage of your batteries by going to menu 4 on it. .....................................J

I hope its not the stainless vmax... lol. I ordered the chrome one.

Forgot to mention, ANY WHO LOVES A GOOD BUTTERSCOTCH JUICE.........You must go to www.virginiacustomblends.com and try their butterscotch, I have NEVER had a flavor that was not only this good but SPOT ON in flavor, if you like a good sweet 555 he also has the best of that flavor also. Make sure you put in the notes "J sent you" , ....Free samples. I think I've tried every Butterscotch out there...clouds of vapor being the absolute worse, ec blend being pretty good...or what I thought was good....but this VAcustomblends.....HOLY JUICE. 50mL is just simply not near enough. I'll put the Pepsi challenge on this stuff.

+1 on the 801 Fusions. I got them in XL size to fit my tanks and although I'm still only on my 2nd one, they are performing very impressively. I also used one out of a tank and same thing...very satisfying vape with tons of vapour and taste. I don't like the fact you have to use a 501 adapter on them but I feel this, together with the fact they appear to use more juice, are small compromises given their exceptional performance. These cartos, together with the Kanger horizontal coils, are the only 2 I've tried out of 10 other types that give off the LEAST amount of carto filler taste.

I've also tried the Phoenix bottom coils this week and they're amazing on the vmax. Exceptionally clean tasting and tons of vapor although a tad less flavor than the Fusions. You need a syringe to fill these however and the procedure must be done correctly or they'll produce wicking/leaking problems. If done right though...wow.
