I just have to say thank you to all on this forum, and of course especially to you guys who are regulars on this thread you have been of tremendous help in this easily overwhelming world, in all aspects from the numerous vendors to technical issues; you have made this process rather enjoyable and pain free, even in the case of faulty hardware, I'm confident in being able to find a solution…

Thanks everybody, happy vaping

My story a few days with the vmax..
Works great lasts a long time with batts even with my Dca 306 lr Attys.

Now the important part...

I was bending over at work to pick something up and it fell about a foot out of my pocket onto concrete and rolled, I believe it hit battery cap first then bounced and hit the edge of the top..
Picked it up tried to find a mark on it and I couldn't. It is the chrome v2 and the display is fine also..

Only thing I noticed was the battery end cap seemed a bit "off kilter" to the threads and I could sort of move it around the threads while fully screwed on.it eventually seemed to go back into place as I fiddled with it and all is great in my vape world..

I put my provari down since ordering it and have not looked back, and don't get me wrong the provari is a great solidly built mod, but the vmax is lighter and it doesnt feel like I am carrying a blackjack around to knock somebody out...

Oh one more thing, the button is not clicky and it takes only a very light touch to activate it. Very light.

Me too, that crap juice he calls butterscotch that he's sooooooo proud of, I finally broke down and bought a 10mL bottle....thats the most I have EVERRRR paid for a 10mL bottle in 2 years of vaping. Then I get it and keep in mind it "suppose" to 100% ALL ""VG"", I get it and it's as thin as water and dilluted down with What seemed to be 30+% PGA (pure grain achohol). So much it literally burned the crap out of my mouth , lips, gums, throat. The stuff was horrible. I send him a email, I call, email, call 3 weeks later I get a response email. "just pop the cap off for a few days and it will be fine"....Are you kidding me ? So I do that, 4 days later half the bottle was evaporated. So all in all.... I paid $12+ shipping for 5mL bottle of slightly butterscotch flavored achohol that I could of made at my house for around $.28 cents. Needless to say I was highly P.O'd !!! NEVER EVER EVER WILL BRUCE GET ANOTHER PENNY OF MY MONEY. I simply could not believe their was a vendor like that doing things how he does and not only getting away with it but making a killing doing it.

His customer service is the worst I have ever seen.
One person, who is never in the spot light and helped me when I started was Travis at Vapor Junction. Great guy to work with and the best customer service ever!

Understand that all this talk recently of vmax's being dropped, nicked and otherwise abused has been deeply upsetting for me. I've taken precautions.

i got my vmax about a week ago from ccv and ordered with an extra set of batteries which were the nipple top imr18350. I charged the imrs once had a great day of vaping and after the second charge my vmax wouldn't work at the batteries wouldn't charge. so i charged up the e'fest batteries haven't had an issue and then after 3 charges one battery seems to take longer to charge than the other.

i'm using a trustfire TR-003P4 charger which i also got from ccv. am i using the right charger or am i doing something to kill my batteries? at this rate i'm going through batteries like crazy hahaha

I have the same charger. It has received fairly decent reviews although some units will slightly overcharge your batteries to 4.25 or 4.26. Mine does that. This will likely shorten the lifespan of the cell but won't 'kill' the battery instantly. One of my batteries almost always takes a little longer to charge than the other and I've seen a difference of as much as .1v between the two cells, with the 1st inserted battery always being the one that's a little more discharged.

Do you have a multimeter to check them when they come out of the vmax and then again when taking them off the charger? I'd highly recommend this. You can get a multimeter for $10-20 when they're on sale and this investment provides for a great peace of mind in ensuring you're batteries are healthy and safe. It is also great for troubleshooting...i.e., is it the battery, charger, confirming coil resistance, etc.

It certainly sounds like the 1st IMR's you got are duds. No doubt they were of the 'no name' variety?

I haven't checked the voltages on my used batts, when the unit blinks - but i do know that when i used stacked batts, one will be lower than the other, and take longer to charge.

All this battery talk today. I have noticed that my vmax reads 8.2v with the efests fresh off the ultrafire 188. I assume thats normal. I had expected to see 8.4. I get prolly 7-10 of vaping tho before it gets to the Lo warning.

Ive been charging at night on the lower mah setting. I figure a slower charge is better for the batts. Dont know how true that is, or even if its accurate, but I imagine Vapnj would know. With the 650mah setting they charge in a little over an hour.

That makes sense. Anyone notice a difference in battery life? Short or long term?

First of all I need to state that I'm by no means an expert, I've been digesting a lot of info since I came to this thread
Also, this is from a quick google search, I haven't checked sources, or done any fact checking, so really I'd appreciate someone correct me if my info is wrong

This is fromCharging Lithium-Ion Batteries

"Increasing the charge current does not hasten the full-charge state by much. Although the battery reaches the voltage peak quicker with a fast charge, the saturation charge will take longer accordingly. The amount of charge current applied simply alters the time required for each stage; Stage 1 will be shorter but the saturation Stage 2 will take longer. A high current charge will, however, quickly fill the battery to about 70 percent.
Li-ion does not need to be fully charged, as is the case with lead acid, nor is it desirable to do so. In fact, it is better not to fully charge, because high voltages stresses the battery. Choosing a lower voltage threshold, or eliminating the saturation charge altogether, prolongs battery life but this reduces the runtime. Since the consumer market promotes maximum runtime, these chargers go for maximum capacity rather than extended service life."

So by these "claims" the higher setting on the charger is better for a faster initial charge (stage 1) at which point it's better to just take the batteries off the charger (excuse me for being redundant) before reaching a full charge

all i can add is that the 18350's from Time-east, VMax batts IMR i believe, and the AW IMR's both take a heck a long time to charge... i use a TF 003P4. Seems longer than the 18650's on my Pila.
I rotate both and get good time on either of them, good performance... can't say how long i get as i use the VMax in rotation with 3 other APV's each day. I get about a day and a half out of one charge. I chain vape like a .... most of the day.

Would someone tell me how many clicks of the button to get the batt voltage readout?
