Was the Vmax ever slated to be named the "Itube" or is this in reference to something else and I am not seeing it? When you look at the instruction manual, look at the last box on the left under 6 --Led light /on/off.

I'm waiting for vapemail - is it worth a try to use the 2.4 ohm Vivi Nova tank on the Max?

Take the silicone top piece off your replaceable heads and cut a 8th of a inch or more off the bottom and put it back on. It will let alot more juice into the coil for superior wicking on the VMax.

This. Make sure you unbraid/spread the wicks out to fill the gap between the wick and the silicone cap after you do it or you'll have flooding issues.

Thanks for the tips guys - this thread is great! I tend to acquire new vaping toys toward the back end of the adoption curve, so I think anything I want to try on the Vmax will already be well vetted (and modded if necessary) by the Vmax crew!

OK folks I remember their being a VMAX owner that purchased a KAYFUN MINI a while back and I'm curious how it worked out for them. If you are that person would you mind posting more info about it and get some pics of the internals and how exactly it works. Their aren't any real pics on the site of the internals so I'm trying to find out the ins and outs of this unit before my purchase. TIA. And Martin if you could maybe do the same with the unit you have, I'm trying to figure out how juice gets to the coil/wick. Any pics would greatly help.

It works OK,but nothing too special (those mini things dont push big plumes like their bigger counterparts,its a matter of vapor chamber size I guess)...on the other hand,the new mini Kayfun II ES promise big things,should be on the market in 2 days

Another way I do it is instead of cutting the whole bottom off I just cut a little "U" shape in the silicon cap right where the wicks come out on both sides so their is no pushing/squeezing on the wicks and it flows real good with no restriction. I'm using the 3.2Ω head on my mini at 3.5-4v and it's working extremely well. No burnt, dry or nasty draws.

It's been asked before, but things change CONSTANTLY and I'm about to drop a little $ to test something other than my Nova (which @ 2.5ohm limits me to about the 3 - 3.4v range). Maybe 3.0ohm or higher? Before breaking into VV, I've used cartos and they've ALWAYS muted the flavor but otherwise performed pretty well on standard 3.7 batts.

Budget: $30
PV: V1Max
Juice: DIY (usually mix at about 40p/60v)

I don't really have a preference between tanks, ce's, cartos, whatever - as long as the flavor isn't muted. Looking for huge vapor + excellent flavor. I don't blow through a lot of juice (probably 1ml/day maybe a little more) so a huge tank isn't absolutely necessary. Bonus points if you happen to know if a vendor exists that supplies Vivi Nova heads @ higher resistances than the standard that come with the kit.

Suggestions? Opinions? TIA

Vapingzone has nova heads up to 4 ohms. I replace the top wick which is sitting on top of the coil and not through with a bigger wick. Wicks much better that way for me

Another +1 for CE3/Phoenix bottom coils. Sure, it's a slight pain to have to fill them with syringe, but they don't leak, produce fantastic flavor and good throat hit. My experience with them is that they don't well at anything much above 4.0 volts, even though they're 2.5 ohms. Doesn't matter, though, as they are great at low voltage (3.7-4.0v). I've gradually surrendered to judging them superior even to Boge 2.0-ohm LRs and Smoktech 1.7-ohm Resurrectors. And you can see when it's time to refill!

CE3 bottom coils work great on my Vmax set at 3.0-3.3 volts. One of mine meters out at 1.8 ohms, however---and that particular one gives a burned juice taste even at 3.0 volts. No problem, I just use that one on a less powerful PV.

View attachment 125892Since we want to use CE3s on Vmax it must be on topic, here is a small mod to get them working really well. CE3s are the only low cost item that I was satisfied with out of box except DCTs but with this that i saw somewhere on the net it becomes outstanding.
I have ground off about 40% of area of tube where it fits down into wick cup. The bottom one is ground down, the upper one is untouched. Unbelievable performance from a $2 item. There is such a thing as removing to much, in that case you will be sucking juice up the tube.
This is why that I can't hardly wait for the Phoenix Ravens to arrive at GV, wow a CE3 in a big tank, vaping heaven
