Actually I haven't tried that yet but have heard many many good things about the flavor it produces. Maybe I'll get a chance to try 1 at vapercon. I really like the fact that it now uses a top side push button....I can't stand bottom pinky crap buttons, just my preference I guess. I'll probably NEVER own 1 as I just refuse to pay more for a mod than I do for my 2012 Cadillac CTS-V coupe or my new built home. I just can't justify the means. I quit smoking for "2" reasons....1, to live longer....2, to "SAVE" MONEY, not spend more even if it does save my life. I love money too much. I work hard at a great career that I love and I like nice things. Gimme my V/Zmax, my Penelope and my 1000mL bottle of my RY4 and I'm good for 6 months.
I see the prices on the classies for some of these devices and it honestly makes me want to puke. I can't believe a fellow American and more-so a fellow vapor would ask $400-$500 bucks for a tube of steel with a clear tube on it that is soooo simple to make and do it with a clear conscience all in the name of making over 100% profit.

I apologize in advance if this post affends anyone but I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it. THIS IS STRICTLY 'MY OPINION' which I believe I'm entitled to.

Take care everyone....and no matter what device your using......KEEP USING IT!!!

* If you feel the last part of this should be edited....you have my permission brotha.

Yeah there's a lot of horribly overpriced second-hand Orion's out there :)

I just like trying new mods, and if I ever get tired of it, I know i'll be able to get a good price for it (I don't think i'll ever get tired of the orion though :) )

......(snip)..The problem is with the wicking of this unit! The terrible burnt choking taste that I am getting, only occurs when I don't turn the thing upside down, prior to taking my next hit. Being that the Vmax is a VV device, I did try lowering all the way down to 3.0v. The result was the same, if I didn't turn it upside down first, I would still end up gagging on the absolute terrible taste of a dry Atomizer!

I actually really like the Vivi when I get a good hit from it! I don't mind some tinkering around (I'll Check Pbsuardo's video out) but I have a lot of stuff going on in my life, which doesn't allow me endless hours to play around with PV Peripherals.

Finally found this thread....LOL Came in here looking for more tips/tricks using Vivi Nova with Vmax and looks like I found the right place.

@Jduilus - I too had the same issue when I first got the Vivi Novas. Well, actually I got the Vmax recently and was already using the Vivi on an LT and it worked fine around 4.5v, but the Vmax was giving me the same horrible taste you describe. In fact, I couldn't use anything but some SR 501 attys I had lying around and I HATE dripping.

I mentioned this in another thread to "The Hill Giant" and he suggested cutting little notches in the silicone head cover right where the wicks go and using the highest resistance heads I had. I just got lucky the first time cuz BAM....it worked flawlessly. Now the disclaimer: I'm using a Chinese made Vmax look-alike (called a Umax), and Vivi Nova tanks and heads from the same Chinese manufacturer, (due to my location and costs), however The Hill Giant said his stuff was all original products and should work the same.

Now being the compulsive kinda guy I am......I ordered 10 more Vivi Nova kits and 10 additional 2.8ohm heads. I'm thinking I just notch another couple and I can have 3 or 4 tanks that can be easily swapped without changing juice. I'm lazy that way. I don't know if it was different juice consistency or I cut the notches bigger - haven't gotten that far into it yet, but my next two tries leaked so I shifted the silicone caps so the notches weren't over the wicks and they're used for the LT only now.

If you watch PBusardo's review, you'll notice he also cut a notch to allow more juice in.

I'll take another brand new Vivi and try notching another tomorrow (after the beer wears off) and let you know if I got it right this time.

Got myself a vivi coming, hope it works on my max :) ( I'm a fusion guy myself!! ) my question is, I live 1,000 miles away from my mom and just got her started vaping on our recent visit ( so I can't be there to help her with everything ) she just ordered a couple mini vivi novas ( on my recommendation ) because I'm trying to keep it as easy as possible for her ( she has an ego ) will she be able to simply open the box, fill with juice, and vape?

Guess I never realized how confusing all this is/can be because I've been vaping for 6 months now... She actually texted me a pic of 1 of the cartomizers I gave her and the stardust tank that came with her kit and asked " how do I get this ( cartomizer) into the tank"?

Just don't want her to give up, due to complications, thx

Need some urgent help here. :(

If vmax keep wanting to teach me how to count instead of firing when I press, does it indicate it's a goner?
Anyone have such experience?

Yep....send it back for replacement....I highly recommend the latest revision of SS 'blue led display and ego top cap unit. It is the best build bar none.

Thanks VAPNJ350, just sad that it pass on for no reason.
Have contacted my vendor and arranging for a replacement. However, not sure if I will be getting the SS blue LED with ego top cap or the same revision that I've brought (red LED, setting retain while batt change).

heading back to my ego for now...

Last week my vmax fell over with a carto tank on it, and the top cap (which seems to be press fitted in there) came off. The positive connection to the board can unattachted. I melted the solder and reattached the wire; so, it's working fine now. But, the top cap seems as though it's not too firmly attached; I was thinking of hitting it with some super glue. Would there be any reason I might not want to super glue the top cap on? I remember reading a post about the negative connection being cold soldered to the inside of the top cap; might I want to super glue around that solder while I'm in there?

Couldn't wait for the beers to wear off so I thought I'd write this. My latest attempt didn't work. The Hill Giant DID tell me to "fluff" the wicks to fill up the exposed space by making the notch and I've forgotten that part in the last 3 attempts. SOOOOOO.....attempt 4, I made a really small "rectangular" notch where the wicks are (about an eyeballed 1 - 2 mm notch) and tried again. This time I counter twisted the wick to make them "fluffy" and fill the hole. It works....!!!! More juice in, but the "fluffed" wicks keep them from flooding the element and leaking out the breathing tube.......I'm now at 50% for perfect Vivi Nova tanks with the Vmax. I"ll try another one tomorrow and see if I have this thing perfected.

On an entirely different note.......has anyone had problems with the fire button becoming unseated? I did on the Chinese version and it's a bear to get back in the right place. For those with this problem, if ever, I can help sort it out......see pic:

Anyone tried this?

Super cheap mini DID clone (ordered one yesterday)

http://vapourhut.com/atomisers-cartomisers/Rebuildables/VH-Genesis
I have one that I'm working on right now, I had to make the wick hole a little larger to 3.5mm. I'll let you know what I think about it when I'm done with it. Paid 40 USD for it.

Edit:My mini DID clone seems to be working pretty good, I'm new to using mesh so it's slow going on getting the correct results. The device seems to be well enough made.

Get her a 15 carto deal of 1.7 Resurrectors from Crystal Clear Vaping and all will be well! :)

I already gave her some, but 1. I know she's probably not filling them up correctly 2. Almost certainly not keeping them filled up

That's why I had her order a vivi nova, will hold enough juice for a couple days ( for her ) and hopefully she won't have to fiddle with it

Ok, cutting notches in the cap can resolve some issues. However this was a tip used for version 2.0 model vivi attys, not 2.5's. Of course that being said there is no reason it wouldnt work for ver 2.5.

Another solution. If your 2.8ohm heads have one single thick wick (not four thin wicks) you can unbraid the wick and it should do the same thing as cutting notches. I had to do this to get 2.8ohm attys to wick properly. 3.2 ohm attys I HAVE NOT had to do this to for whatever reason. In either case my wicks were srill left long, not short. If the wicks are short (they can be ordered from vision this way) they may have been the one thick wick version before they were cut. Fluffing them would untwist the wick.

All of the vision wicks Ive recieved in 2.8ohm and 3.2 ohm attys have one LONG, not short, thick braided wick. If yours are different they are not origional manufacturer equipment. Vision only produces four wick attys for 1.8 and 2.4ohm heads.

The only issue you face cutting notches would be cutting them too big which could reult in flooding the atty.

And if I did hold stock in vision Id be a very rich man right now with a cadallac and a new house like vapnj. unfortunately, im not. Its just a product I believe in and has good quality and reaults if used right. Tinkering is necessary on moat things and the amount of time it takes to do any tip or trick to fix an issue is minimal, with good friends and support to walk you through it.

Been there, done that... kinda thing.

How`s the throttle response on that thing :)

Truly unbelievable, I was looking at either a 2011 Nissan GTR or the CTS-V coupe. Nissan/546HP/TTC...CTS-V 556HP/SC. The CTS-V is truly a whole different kind of cadi...IT"S NOT A CADI ...IT's plain NUTZ. 0-60 4.4 sec. I'll trade it in for the GTR in December as A Christmas present to myself.
But the CTS-V has a little slot in the middle console that holds my VMAX and ZMAX and Prova wait nevermind...lol.. absolutely perfect...like it was made for it. LOVE IT.

It looks as though I am going to have to ask some questions regarding mesh wick making.
Do I want large center hole in wick or small one?
Thick walled or thin?
I'm getting ready to give up on this DID w/mesh and put in a vertical silica wick (well thinking about it).

The bigger the center hole the better, just like a straw. If your using the V/Zmax to power it, you may want to start with a pure mechanical mod 1st till you get it perfect with NO shorts. Taste a metallic taste? Ya gotta short. Rebuildable Atty's were really designed to be used on a mechanical type device....doesn't mean you can't use them on electronic devices their just more sensitive and temperamental. They have to be perfect and I mean PERFECT to use on the V/Zmax's. 1st tip, when you think you have oxidized the wick enough....DO IT MORE...WAY MORE. Check for hotspots. With those DiD type RA's the route you run the kanthal will matter...big time. Atleast it did with mine.
