There never used to be. But, recently, something has happened to the Boge cartos. Boge won't admit that they changed something, but there was a good chunk of them floating around that had a pretty distinct flavor that was tainting people's juice. Here's a video explaining it. A PBusardo Video - BOGEGATE - YouTube

I have always been a Smoktech carto fan and will remain that way. Smoktech has a larger range of options when it comes to Boge and they are consistent. Every now and then you'll get a "bad" one. But, not very often.

not really much of a difference...but recently the quality of the boges have, as stated, declined sharply...so in essence, you are better off with the smoke tech ones (imho)...however,I must also say that the ikenvape cartos are my absolute favorites right now, between the 801 fusions and the 510 diamond series...you can easily find an amazing carto experience

Using 3.7 PVs I first began with Boge 2.0. I next switched to smok Tech XL 1.7 single coil cartos aka The Resurrectors and never bought another Boge HOWEVER Boge and Smok Tech are both having quality control issues and it's hit and miss- bad taste and cartos only lasting 1-2 days. You would think with the advent of tanks and clearomizers carto quality control, at this time, would be of utmost importance. Here's a Review on the ST 1.7 cartos:

Is there a clear difference between a smoktech and a boge 510 cartomizer. If so which one is better and why?

My own experience. I've only used perhaps a dozen Boges for my shorter cartotanks. Pretty nondescript with them.

The majority of my tanks are larger and require the XL cartos. For months I used the Smoktech dual coils in 1.5 and 2.0 ohm resistances. To me the lower resistance was too harsh. With the 2.o ohm standard resistance it was nicer, but I still occassionally recognized some burnt taste.

That's when I started investigating single coil cartos. From what I could find, the dual cartos were designed for more vapor production for 3.7v devices. But I also read that to get the most potential out of both coils you had to push 4.5v minimum into them.

I'd read good reviews of the single coils, so I ordered a bunch from Smoktek. (Note the spelling, different companies?) I changed out all of a dozen tanks with brand new pre-drilled 2.0 ohm single coils. I got the same flavor and vapor production, more battery time between charges, and in over 2 months of changing over, not one incidence of burnt taste.

I just got a batch of 3.0 ohm 2-holed single coils to use on my Provari and these are performing excellently also.

I have been using Smoktech LR XL cartos in stainless steel for a year now and have never had any serious problems with them. During the year I've had to pull posts on two of the cartos: they didn't make contact with the 510 connector. Easily fixed.

I guess you could say that I'm pretty sensitive to off-flavors from vaping. I use unflavored 20 mg juice.

How long do Smoktech LR XL cartos last? With one carto in constant use I can run about 15 ml of unflavored juice through them before the taste starts to suffer. That degradation in taste comes from the accumulation of old, heated juice in the carto over time and not from burning or degradation of the cartro. I go through 15 ml of juice in about seven days.

Of course, I'm not overheating these LR cartos. I use them with 3.7V and never run them past 50% of the 1.8 ml fluid capacity
