Probally a stupid question but which way does the battery go in these things?? Im guessing nipple to button end??

Usually the flat end goes against the spring, so you're probably right. If it makes you feel better, check out one of the reviews that come up when you google "smoktek e power 18650 v2". PBusardo is one of the top ones.
