OK, I got my package today. I am using the included non-branded 900mah protected battery. Works pretty good. After it ran down, I recharged to 4.2 volts. Got 181 "puffs" according to the meter at 4volts x 1.9ohm for 8.4watts.

Then it shut down. Ending voltage on the battery was 3.5. It actually still lights up but you can't fire it and cant adjust the voltage.

181 puffs would probably work out to between 1 and 2 hours for me. Not as much as I would like. Hopefully when my AW IMRs get here this will get extended.

I'd assume that the Trustfire was dropping below the cutoff voltage and te regulator was shutting down due to low input volts. I've measured a .4v dropout on a couple different ICR battrries. Also, at 3.2v (under load) the regulator would be trying to pull around 2.8a from the battery.

How are you calculating the amps? I thought 3.2v at 1.8 ohms would be just over 2 amps? Or is there something about being under load that spikes that?

I'm getting over 400 hits every time with the Trustfires that came with mine. They are giving me at least 8 hours of vaping too.

Wow that is great compared to mine! My battery is generic blue wrap. Not a trustfire. I am getting even less than 180 hits on mine after recharging. I am a bit jealous of your battery now, but excited that I may get a lot better battery life with better batteries!

I just got the AW one. Its charging now before I try it. I thought the Trustfires batts that came with mine were going to make my PV run hot, but it doesn't. I only wish it would last longer. The hits I take are most likely shorter than yours tho. Most of the time, I hit it twice each time. The last battery I used just went over 500 hits before it started flashing.

I would run far away from any GTL battery. Their 18650 on eBay is by far the worst cell I've ever seen tested. I can't imagine any of their stuff is even safe to use. The link below shows their 18650 barely hitting 1000mah

Test / Review: GTL 18650 5000mAh (Blue) | BudgetLightForum.com

Check out that website and the battery section there are some awesome reviews and comparisons there! We use several of the popular mod battery sizes and there are a ton of knowledgable folks if you have questions or issues.

I just got 519 hits with the AW. It was used from late last nite till noon today.

Ha! Mine will last from late at night to noon on Saturday night! I would have been asleep the whole time!!!

Either 1) you got better batteries, 2) your device operates better, or 3) i am taking some long drags ---- actually I think i take way too long of drags and double hits.....

What battery are you using? Mine are the 2 Trustfires that came with the PV and the AW that I got the other day. They all are giving me 500+ all the time now.

AW IMR and the generic blue wrap protected that came with mine. I am getting 160-190 puffs.

I actually haven't used them today because I was having some weirdness on a vision spinner that I want to make sure is ok before my 14 day return period is up. So I haven't cycled the batteries many times.

Again, you stated elsewhere that you take short puffs and I have to admit taking long double puffs, so that could be a big part of the difference....

My AW batteries are actually giving less puffs the the generic protected batteries:mad:

That would make sense since the AW's are less capacity. Remember that the AW IMR will supply more current than the Trustfires, but they are a third less in capacity. You have to make a tradeoff somewhere and if you run your PV hotter, say with a Genesis atomizer, you'd want the IMR's and just carry some spares. On the other hand, if you just use a carto or drip, you might want the advantage of longer battery life with the Trustfires.
