SmokTek Hyper SRT II (Nov 24 2012)

UPDATE: As of Feb 8, 2013 the SmokTech "R" is still working great. It's been used every other day since I first got it, with about a week's pause due to my Odysseus Clone obsession It has certainly outlasted the "Hyper SRT II" by leaps and bounds and in light of this, I highly recommend the SmokTech "R" over the "Hyper SRT II".

I like the "R" but I'm new and will need to get a battery also... I don't want to spend the big bucks on a Provari or the such. I'm looking at the Joye Ego 650 [Passthrough] ($20) but I'm not sure about this.

Any suggestions?

I wish I could point you in the right direction on that MrJoel. I began with a Joye eGO 900mah passthrough and some CE3/4s. Since you can't adjust the voltage on these particular devices, you'd have to chose your coil wire gauge and wrap your coils carefully. I hear the lavatubes are good bang for the buck, but I have no personal experience with them. Buying a Provari early on saved me from wasting money, but I also missed out on the experiences using other batteries/PVs.

I began rebuilding with Vision Vivi Novas: tanks/Minis/Startdusts and was quite happy with them on my eGOs.
