Ended up EXACTLY "even". I was up $17.xx at some point, so I cashed in... put the original $$$ back in the wallet... and played off the profits. Oh well... better than losing, and we had fun and a nice lunch.
Stone: this place is a state-run "racino" (they cannot call it a casino as the NA tribes have some kind of trademark or something on the word "casino" in NY). And there are no "slot machines"... they are "video lottery terminals" (with < 70% overall payout). But anyway, this particular racino is the ONLY one in NY that has dedicated indoor smoking areas. The other 4 or 5 are completely non-smoking... and I can say the one directly east makes puffing patrons walk FAR away from the entrance.
Now to think about making dinner even though I'm not hungry at all.
ETA:
Actually, I guess I ended UP the $.xx cents that was pocketed at cash-out. So, yeah... it was a "win" visit.
That's weird...since NY has become a nanny state I thought smoking was banned everywhere indoors. It's practically illegal everywhere here in the city, including in city parks. I wonder how the "Racino" managed that?
I was glad when they banned smoking in restaurants and bars, even though I was a smoker. I hated smelling like an ashtray even when it was my fault . . .
At any rate, I'm glad you had a good time and ended a few cents in the red.
hiya, meggers!
@ stone - my crew made it back from brooklyn ok and apparently had lunch at le bernadin on 51st
Le Bernadin is a great lunch place...dinner is too pricey for what you get, so they did that perfectly!
P.S. Maybe Stone should check too.
Yeah, we're supposed to get 2 inches of the white stuff tomorrow night
.......and then rain for 2 days later this week............Booooooooooooooo!!
