Sounds like she has her center mouse wheel set to simulate the browser's back-button.

My mouse has a wheel that just clicks...not sideways stuff. However, it opens stuff in a new tab (lol). My normal left-click is a normal left click (navigates to the link).

Tabs would save you some I/O tibs....if you don't refresh the "my posts" tab every time....
