The web site's definition of what constitutes tobacco use is non-existent. However, the insurance company considers all nic use tobacco use...So gum and patches as well. Thus I answered "Yes" although I haven't smoked in nearly 4 years...just because I use "alternative nicotine". I posted links to stories about this a while back.

So "they" got ya... coming or going.

I think the FORM of nic use should be taken into account, basically.

While I was ACTUALLY OUTSIDE DOING SOME YARD CLEAN-UP, it occurred to me that I left something out of my previous post:

The fact they discriminate - at all - is a steaming pile of horse :censored:. I know the "why", but it still reeks.

It is interesting that New York (well, at least Monroe County for all I know) has decided that it's "everybody in the pool" and tobacco use is not a factor in premiums. That could change in the coming year(s). I believe the big reason is that NY tobacco product taxes are the highest in the US... with packs at the local 7-11 coming in at $10.25... cartons for $100 even at last glance. (But there are those of us pyro-users that visit NA reservations and pay only $19.95 a carton.)
