Ok, think I've found my brother-from-another-mother :D  :D :

so, i'm vaping for like an year now, not a single stinky, but i'm still feeling uncomfortable to vape in front of other people (especially kids) since i imagine that in the eyes of others my pt2 looks like a crck pipe or smthng similar. it was kinda easier with the egos since they were more discreet, but no one can take my 2.6ml bccs away from me - they're so handy. anyway, do you still feel ashamed of vaping in public? i ocassionally get some bad looks from elderly people and i don't like it, i also don't like seeing young people observing me with interest and i get the feeling i'm promoting an illegal activity or smthng.. cops look at me in a weird manner too, also other drivers at traffic lights.. i don't know, perhaps i'm just being paranoid..

You only notice them if you look at them. I don't really like people so I don't really look at people. The only time I really notice them or get distracted by them is when I look around.

When it comes to vaping, I just own it like when I was smoking; while being all respectfully of course.

Yeah. That was my best "compromise"...the signature thing. Anything else just guarantees a huge black market. Or hands it all over to gas-station sold stuff.

Maybe they'll kill the whole bill. But I doubt it. Most of these states are going after tobacco sales via mail too....and hitting people with HUGE back-taxes bills/suits. They are motivated with taxes in that case. Of course, as e-cigs take off...taxes are next  I'm afraid the writing is on the wall. Doesn't mean we can't fight it.

They won't kill the bill. We just pray they'll drop the signature required.

Atty, it's not just about the cost--it's a nightmare for people who work 9-5 and can't get to the PO during business hours. That only leaves Saturdays--but many post offices are closing on Saturdays--and more will close in the future. Please remember that USPS sends packages back to sender after just a few days if not picked up. People in remote rural areas will be hit the hardest. And the working poor who can't leave their work for a couple of hours in the middle of a working day. Remember that most folks in CA work far away from their homes, so a lunchtime trip to the PO is out of the question.

ETA: That age verification is also controversial, because it means we'd have to disclose another piece of valuable personal data while shopping and I'm not too keen on that--having been a victim of online fraud several times. We'll be creating a paradise for hackers. Nicotine is readily available online for kids in the form of NRT products. Anyone can buy gums, patches, lozenges that come in kid-friendly flavors--no restrictions whatsover. :D

If anyone feels like doing something, this advice comes from Bill G:

All vapers (including those who live outside CA), especially those who buy from companies located in CA, should tell CA Assembly members that if AB 1500 passes, you'll stop buying buy e-cig products from companies located in California and buy them from companies outside of CA (and that most other customers will do so as well) due to the extra hassles and expenses.

Again, thank you all for your help and interest in this matter! :)

whew. day is done.

so, had to go to the grocery store on the way home, lots of stuff to pick up for travel (we take edible food to tide us over between cafeteria meals ;) ) so, I'm checking out after finding bunches of stuff that i don't usually buy. Lots of bags. The nice lady at the checkout counter says..."I don't know ages, but I'm gonna give you the senior discount" . After a short internal scream, I smiled and thanked her. Heck it was 10% off my total bill. I'll take it. (even if i am a decade too young)
