Mood has improved. Temp came up to 42 and the new snow is gone.

And around here they do NOTHING to improve the situation until ALL threats of bad weather have passed. So who knows how long we'll have to swerve and weave to save our cars. Yes... "CARS"... sedans... coupes... and NOT SUVs, trucks, vans, jeeps, or crossovers. I do not care what happens to those. CARS... if you look long enough, you may see one. They are as rare as people without smartphones and witty signatures mentioning Tapatalk.

There's one group here in my state that started a "hub cap museum" on the curb near a particularly bad area. Planted them. There were 8 from 1 day alone (and many cars don't even have em anymore). The news crews loved it. Lo and behold....a "road fix it" truck pulled up as the news was filming.
It's hard to fix in the winter (cold patch) and they only have so many trucks/people. <--- the problem. The solution? $$$$$$$$
Then they get some consultant from another state with similar size and road budget to come and talk to people here. I'm sure they paid him for it. He said what everyone knew....fix it before it gets worse...don't put it off. I would have only charged them 1/2 of what that guy charged to say the same thing.

. Put down those roadplates if needed. We're told if you have damage to report it. If it happens in a spot that HAS been reported, then send in the repair bill. But guess what... strange that NO spot has been previously reported. Amazing, huh???I'm attuned to this due to a double blowout on my '78 Camaro Rally Sport back around that model year. Nobody carries TWO spares... and this was before I was an AAA member.

I loved that car.
It's the ONLY one I had past 100K miles. Performance was flawless and no major repairs. 2nd auto owned. But when my foot went THROUGH the floor (I could see asphalt), it was time to move on.
I tried finding my first on Google Images, but no luck. 1974 Gremlin Levi Edition (denim upholstery w/ rivets and all), V8, black with front-to-back yellow-to-orange gradient striping. Yeah... a Gremlin. But it kicked serious ... with that V8. I recall installing an 8-track deck and putting in 12 additional speakers. Kids... whattayada gonna do with 'em, right???

Well, Bear, I think that depends on YOU more than THEM. I'm guessing here, but these days, particularly with charity events, semi-formal and business casual mix fairly well. You could try a sport coat no tie. I'd avoid the Miami-Vice Tee with Coat B.S. that's outdated anyway.
So collar shirt, decent slacks, dress shoes. Sweater or better a coat. Tie optional. Business casual or better.
The YOU part is....how will you feel if you're the only one in the room with no tie? Self conscious or happy about it?
