Restore points are a last resort...1/2 the time they mess everything up.
What was it doing to make you use a restore point? You forgot a password?

What happens? It just freezes? At what point? Did you try boot with logging turned on?
xp screen comes up - loading your personal settings and there it ends ....... sigh
strangest thing - when i log in as administrator to change the limited user account to administrative priviliges that account does not show
icons and start menu load in safe mode but not in normal mode

It creates an "ntblog.txt file located in the C:\Windows directory
It's hard to tell when stuff freezes....exactly what caused the freeze. The log will tell you where it left off.
Maybe loading some add-in or something.
If you get it working, you need to run windows update again....since you did a restore point. :/

Hubby's gone to get a new distribution box for the septic. Our neighbor with big back-hoe is going to help put it in when we're ready.
