Well, heck. I may whine about working, but at least it means that i don't have to deal with the ACA choices. It turns out that my new doc, semi-random choice from a list based on having an available appointment is super nice. She actually asked questions, listened, and answered my questions without pushing extra stuff. Yay. It's good to know that there are reasonable GPs around still.

and yep, health is good. I'll get the blood work back in a couple of weeks, but i don't expect anything to be outside of normal range.

Meh, i have a couple of small things to follow up on in the fall, then hopefully it'll be another few years before i bother her again.


As long as i can keep working at a university with a medical school, my employer is liable to provide some form of coverage. How else are they gonna get the med students trained?

The people from the alarm company just left. They were able to come early. I can relax now until the vapor lounge grand opening this evening. (assuming i go)

Front locust and two Japanese maples pruned. ROUGH winter! Front lawn mowed. West-end gutter cleaned out. Done for today.

The amount of dead wood on the trees was an indication. There are also two standard hydrangea that had no - zero - growth on last year's canes. They had to be cut right down to ground level. No blooms this year, for sure, but coming back nicely. The oak leaf hydrangea made it but lost a couple good-size branches due to heavy snow. And, last year for the lone holly... it's just gotten totally out of hand and has no "mate".


ETA: I do not know how I ever did everything out in the yard ON TOP OF going to work every day.

Now to plan dinner.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day here. 80 degrees and no humidity. There's a beautiful sunset and temps should be in the 60's tonight. Great sleeping weather.
