Yesterday morning, the forecast was for "damaging wind and hail, torrential downpours, much lightning and thunder".

Reality: Totally clear cloudless skies ALL day long.

5pm news had the weather-guesser making up all kinds of excuses why he was wrong.

So... (at the risk of CES chiming in at this point), the sprinklers are doing their thing... currently at Stations #1 and #2. Only 4.5 hours to go. :glare:

Do NONE of you actually use sprinklers or do ANYTHING to keep your yards green and growing??? NONE of you??? Tibs????... with that park-like yard and stuff??? Nothing???

My GF has sprinklers in the front yard...I (we) set them every season. About 15 min watering for most stations every morning just before sunrise. Doing this early a.m. keeps the mold down. Grass won't burn due to low sun angle at sunrise. Has a chance to absorb the water, but gets evaporated off during the day so it doesn't get over-wet.

I have soaker hoses connected to a 200gal rainwater tank for the flowerbeds. I tend not to water my lawn weeds. It only encourages them.
( CES chiming in ;) )

I know i must have, but i still find it hard to believe that I'd advocate a 10K option, when there are so many less expensive ways of doing it...then again, it wouldn't have been my money i was suggesting be spent ;)

I'm off and running (well, meandering anyway) too.

Have a good one :)

^^^ Explains my calling ya CESster (sister)

I've taken boxes of wet cat food and bags of dry to this woman for all she does:

Noticed today she's having a fund-raiser to help her continue:

Guess I now have plans for 02aug14! :)

Late g'mornin, snails...

Been a challenging past few days...emotional highs and lows, pewp. But you know what they say - Keep moving forward!

In a nutshell:

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb/Bachelor party - YAY!

Find out competitor succumbs to his injuries from crash at the peak - not yay

See competitors procession down the highway - YAY!

Find out motorcycle racing buddy has fatal accident during a race that same day, back home - CRUSHED

Wake is tonight after work, then I've gotta switch emotional gears for the wedding this weekend.

*SIGH* I think I need a vape.
